True Online Double-Conversion Protection
The Eaton 9E is an online double-conversion UPS rated 10000 VA / 8000 W. It rebuilds a clean, regulated sine wave output continuously, so connected equipment is isolated from sags, surges, frequency drift and noise on the incoming supply, with zero transfer time to battery. This XL version ships without internal batteries and runs from Eaton 9E external battery modules, so runtime is sized to the site.
High Efficiency and Clean Input
Eaton specifies 92% efficiency at maximum load and an input power factor above 0.99, with an input window of 176–276 V (110–276 V with derating), so the 9E rides through poor mains and keeps the load on the building supply or generator clean.
Monitoring and Shutdown
An LCD display, USB (HID) and RS232 ports, a mini-terminal block and one slot for an optional network card integrate with Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and Intelligent Power Protector. An internal bypass keeps the load powered if the UPS needs attention.
Supplied Locally with GST Invoice

Operating Systems and Software
The USB port is HID compliant, so Windows, macOS and Linux recognise the UPS natively. Eaton Intelligent Power Protector handles single-server shutdown; Eaton Intelligent Power Manager and an optional network card cover multiple servers and virtualised hosts.
Batteries and Installation
The XL model has no internal battery, so order it with Eaton 9E external battery modules. Eaton lists a hardwired input, so a licensed electrician should install it; we can quote EBMs and installation together.

The load always runs from the UPS inverter, so there is no transfer time to battery and the output is regulated at all times. It is the right choice for servers, storage and sensitive equipment.
Does it work without an external battery module?
The XL model ships with no internal battery (Eaton lists battery quantity 0), so it needs Eaton 9E external battery modules to provide backup runtime.
How long will it run?
