The EX271QZ runs 2560 x 1440 on a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel at a 500Hz refresh ceiling, with a 0.03ms grey-to-grey response. That pairing is the point of the model: QHD is a resolution a strong GPU can actually feed at triple-digit frame rates in a competitive shooter, and the self-emissive panel switches fast enough that no overdrive tuning is needed to keep moving edges clean. FreeSync Premium Pro keeps delivery synchronised when frame times move, and Motion Blur Reduction is available on top.
True Black 500 HDR and 99% DCI-P3
BenQ rates the panel at 1,500,000:1 native contrast with 300 nits typical and 1000 nits peak in HDR, certified to VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. Colour coverage is 99% DCI-P3 across 1.07 billion display colours. Because each pixel emits its own light, dark scenes show real black instead of a grey backlight wash, which is what makes the difference in night maps, cave sections and anything letterboxed. Colour Vibrance and Light Tuner pull saturation and shadow detail per title without leaving the game.
HDMI 2.1 with eARC for Console and Soundbar Setups
Two HDMI 2.1 inputs are fitted, one carrying Enhanced Audio Return Channel so audio can pass back out from the monitor to a soundbar or AV receiver rather than being split separately. Compatibility & Installation
Mounting
The supplied stand tilts -5° to 15°, swivels 15° each way and offers 100 mm of height adjustment — enough to set eye level correctly for long competitive sessions. A 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern on the rear takes any standard arm or wall bracket, and the whole unit is 7.17 kg.
What it connects to
Two HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC) and one DisplayPort 1.4. To reach the full 500Hz refresh use DisplayPort with a GPU that supports it; HDMI 2.1 is the port for a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. A USB Type-C upstream port connects the monitor's hub to a computer, feeding two downstream USB Type-A ports and one downstream USB Type-C port.
Console audio
The eARC-capable HDMI 2.1 port sends audio out from the monitor to a soundbar or AV receiver. BenQ does not list built-in speakers on this model, so plan on a headset through the headphone jack or external speakers.

Frequently Asked Questions — BenQ EX271QZ
What does the Z suffix mean in the MOBIUZ range?
The Z marks the QD-OLED models. The EX271QZ, EX271UZ and EX321UZ all use self-emissive QD-OLED panels. MOBIUZ models without the Z, such as the EX271Q, use an LCD panel with an LED backlight.
What do I gain over the LCD EX271Q at the same size and resolution?
Three things. Native contrast goes from 1000:1 to 1,500,000:1, so dark scenes are genuinely black rather than grey. Pixel response goes from 1ms GtG to 0.03ms, removing the overdrive smear an LCD always carries. And refresh goes from 180Hz on DisplayPort to 500Hz. Colour also widens from 95% to 99% DCI-P3.
And what do I give up?
The EX271QZ uses a glare (glossy) coating rather than the EX271Q's matte finish, so lamps and windows behind you reflect more. Typical SDR brightness is 300 nits, and as with any OLED the static-image protections — Pixel Refresh, Pixel Shift, Idle Dimmer, Logo Dimming — should be left enabled. A desk facing strong daylight all day is an easier fit for a matte LCD.
Do I need a 500Hz-capable GPU to buy this?
No. The monitor runs at whatever rate your source outputs, and FreeSync Premium Pro keeps delivery synchronised below the ceiling. The headroom matters most in competitive titles at QHD, where a strong GPU can push frame rates high enough to use it.
Does it have built-in speakers or a KVM switch?
Neither is listed by BenQ for the EX271QZ. It has a headphone jack, and the HDMI 2.1 eARC port passes audio to a soundbar or receiver. If you need a KVM switch to share one keyboard and mouse between two computers, the EX271UZ carries one.
Should I choose this or the 4K EX271UZ?
Same chassis and same panel technology, different priorities. The EX271QZ is QHD at 500Hz — refresh first. The EX271UZ is 4K at 240Hz with 166 PPI, a KVM switch and 90W USB-C — detail and desk flexibility first.
Can it take a console?
