Which UPS models does the SRT96RMBP fit?

Schneider's installation guide 990-5300C and compatibility FAQ FA349747 list the SRT96RMBP against the following Smart-UPS On-Line families, which share the 96 V DC bus, the brown battery connector and the APCRBC152 internal cartridge:

Schneider documents the compatibility as a wildcard family (the “x” covers the regional build suffixes) rather than as an exhaustive list of individual part numbers, so if your UPS part number is not one of the two above, send it to SourceIT and we will confirm against Schneider's table rather than guess.

Keyed connectors — packs are not interchangeable. Schneider states in FAQ FA349747 that “each external battery pack has a keyed mating connector that is only compatible with its corresponding UPS”. A 96 V pack will not physically connect to a 192 V UPS, and APC does not support third-party packs. Order strictly by the compatibility list above.

How many packs can I connect? Schneider states that the UPS will recognise as many as ten external battery packs connected to it. Recharge time increases with each pack added. Ten packs is 20U of rack space and roughly 400 kg before you count the UPS, so in practice cabinet capacity usually limits the design before the electronics do.

Rack fit. 2U, 85 mm (H) x 432 mm (W) x 594 mm (D), with the rail kit, a pair of rack-mount brackets, six flat head screws and four ornamental screws included. Mount it low in the cabinet, check the rack's static load rating if you are stacking several, and allow for cable bend radius behind the unit. The tower equivalent is the SRT96BP, which ships without rails.

Runtime. Runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider does not publish a runtime table for the SRT96RMBP that we are able to cite, so rather than quote a figure we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a runtime calculation against your measured load and pack count.

Which UPS models does the SRT96RMBP fit?
Schneider lists it against the SRT3000XLx and SRT3000RMXLx families — the Smart-UPS SRT 3 kVA on-line range, which shares the 96 V DC bus, the brown battery connector and the APCRBC152 internal cartridge. What is the difference between the SRT96RMBP and the SRT96BP?
They are the same 96 V battery pack in two different builds. The SRT96RMBP is the rackmount version: 2U, supplied with the rail kit, rack-mount brackets and screws. The SRT96BP is the stand-alone tower version and ships without rails. Order by part number rather than by voltage.

Can I use an SRT96RMBP on a 5 kVA or 6 kVA SRT?
No. Those units run a 192 V DC bus and use the SRT192BP or SRT192RMBP packs. Schneider is explicit that each external battery pack has a keyed mating connector compatible only with its corresponding UPS, so a 96 V pack will not physically connect.

How many SRT96RMBP packs can I connect to one UPS?
Schneider states the UPS will recognise as many as ten external battery packs. Bear in mind what that means physically: ten packs is 20U and roughly 400 kg before you count the UPS, so cabinet space and floor loading usually limit the design before the electronics do. Recharge time also increases with each pack added.

How much runtime will one pack add?

Can I replace the batteries inside the pack myself?
Yes. The pack has swappable battery modules with user-replaceable batteries, and the replacement cartridge is the APCRBC152. Typical service life is three to five years and Schneider recommends replacement at least every five years. Heat is the main determinant, so a cabinet that runs warm will push you towards the shorter end.

How much rack space does it need, and is the rail kit included?
