Which UPS models does the SRT96BP fit?

Schneider's installation guide 990-5300C and compatibility FAQ FA349747 list the SRT96BP against the following Smart-UPS On-Line families, which share the 96 V DC bus, the brown battery connector and the APCRBC152 internal cartridge:

Schneider documents the compatibility as a wildcard family (the “x” covers the regional build suffixes) rather than as an exhaustive list of individual part numbers, so if your UPS part number is not one of the two above, send it to SourceIT and we will confirm against Schneider's table rather than guess.

Keyed connectors — packs are not interchangeable. Schneider states in FAQ FA349747 that “each external battery pack has a keyed mating connector that is only compatible with its corresponding UPS”. A 96 V pack will not physically connect to a 192 V UPS, and APC does not support third-party packs. Order strictly by the compatibility list above.

How many packs can I connect? Schneider states that the UPS will recognise as many as ten external battery packs connected to it. Recharge time increases with each pack added. Runtime scales close to linearly with pack count at a given load, but the exact figure depends on your measured load — ask SourceIT for a calculation rather than working from a headline number.

Tower or rack? The SRT96BP is the stand-alone (tower) pack and does not include a rail kit. If the pack is going into a cabinet, order the SRT96RMBP instead — it is the rackmount version and ships with the rail kit, rack-mount brackets and mounting screws in the box. Note that Schneider's own product data sheet carries a “2U” metadata attribute against the SRT96BP that appears to be inherited from the rackmount variant; the physical dimensions above are the ones to design against.

Runtime. Runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider does not publish a runtime table for the SRT96BP that we are able to cite, so rather than quote a figure we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a runtime calculation against your measured load and pack count.

Note that a rail kit is not included — Schneider supplies that with the rack-mount SRT96RMBP only.

Which UPS models does the SRT96BP fit?
Schneider lists it against the SRT3000XLx and SRT3000RMXLx families — the Smart-UPS SRT 3 kVA on-line range, which shares the 96 V DC bus, the brown battery connector and the APCRBC152 internal cartridge. At SourceIT that means the SRT3000XLI and the SRT3000RMXLI. If your part number is not one of those, send it to us and we will check it against Schneider's compatibility table rather than guess.

Can I use an SRT96BP on a 5 kVA or 6 kVA SRT?
No. Those units run a 192 V DC bus and use the SRT192BP or SRT192RMBP packs. Schneider is explicit that each external battery pack has a keyed mating connector compatible only with its corresponding UPS, so a 96 V pack will not physically connect. The same applies in reverse — do not order a 192 V pack for a 3 kVA unit.

How many SRT96BP packs can I connect to one UPS?
Schneider states the UPS will recognise as many as ten external battery packs. Recharge time increases with each pack added, so if your site sees repeated dips in a single afternoon — not unusual during the Singapore monsoon — factor that into the design rather than just maximising pack count.

How much runtime will one pack add?
That depends entirely on the load, and runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Is this the tower pack or the rackmount one?
The SRT96BP is the stand-alone tower pack and does not include a rail kit. The SRT96RMBP is the rackmount version, 2U, supplied with the rail kit, rack-mount brackets and screws. Order by part number — Schneider's own data sheet carries a “2U” metadata attribute against the SRT96BP that appears to be inherited from the rackmount variant, so do not rely on that field.

Can I replace the batteries inside the pack myself?
Yes. Schneider describes the SRT96BP as having swappable battery modules with user-replaceable batteries, and the replacement cartridge is the APCRBC152. Typical service life is three to five years and Schneider recommends replacement at least every five years. Heat is the main determinant, so a room that runs warm will push you towards the shorter end.

What is in the box?
