APC Replacement battery cartridge #150
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #150 (APCRBC150) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The Genuine Cartridge for the Smart-UPS C 3000 VA Tower
The APCRBC150 is APC's factory replacement battery tray for the Smart-UPS C 3000 VA tower, the SMC3000I. Schneider Electric's product data sheet for that UPS names APCRBC150 as its replacement battery, quantity one, and the APC Smart-UPS C brochure carries the same pairing. At 2100 W the SMC3000I is usually the largest single protected load in a small comms room, and its battery is the part that determines whether that load survives a supply event.
Sized for the Singapore SME Server Cupboard
Singapore runs a 230 V / 50 Hz supply that is among the most reliable in the region, but the PUB grid still sees voltage dips during the monsoon storm season, and year-round humidity of 80% and above is hard on sealed lead-acid chemistry. A UPS battery in a Singapore comms cabinet or server room commonly reaches the end of its useful life sooner than the same battery would in a temperate climate, which is why a scheduled cartridge replacement matters more here than the calendar alone suggests.
Smart-UPS C units are the workhorse of the Singapore SME server cupboard and the small comms room — enough capacity for a couple of hosts, a switch stack and a firewall, with automatic voltage regulation that rides out the shallow dips a Singapore feeder sees without touching the battery at all. The cartridge is the one consumable in the unit, and it is the part that decides whether the UPS is still doing its job five years in.
The Best-Documented Cartridge of Its Group
Unlike its siblings, the APCRBC150 has a genuine Schneider Electric product data sheet in circulation, and every physical and environmental figure in the specification table below is taken from it: a 10 kg tray, 83 x 216 x 343 mm, rated for 0 to 45 °C operation and 0 to 95% humidity. Where Schneider does not publish a figure — capacity and cartridge-level voltage among them — we have left the row blank rather than fill it in.
One Cartridge, One UPS
The APCRBC150 fits the tower SMC3000I. It does not fit the 2U rackmount SMC3000RMI2U, which takes a different part. The cartridge arrives complete and connectored, so the exchange is a slide-out, slide-in operation. Supplied on a GST invoice with local Singapore warranty.

Compatibility & Runtime
Confirmed fitment.
- SMC3000I — APC Smart-UPS C 3000 VA LCD 230 V, tower. Named as the replacement battery in Schneider Electric's product data sheet for that UPS, quantity 1, and confirmed independently in the APC Smart-UPS C brochure.
An explicit negative, because this one causes returns. The APCRBC150 does not fit the 2U rackmount SMC3000RMI2U. Schneider's data sheet for that model names APCRBC151 instead. Several reseller listings pair the 150 with both; Schneider's own documents do not.
Why no nominal voltage is shown. Schneider markets this cartridge with a "12V" figure. That cannot be the cartridge rating: this is the replacement tray for a 2 kVA-class or 3 kVA-class line-interactive UPS, a single 12 V block could not run that inverter, and the published net weight of about 10 kg is roughly four blocks rather than one. The 12 V figure is the rating of one block inside the tray. Four blocks would make 48 V, but no Schneider document states a cartridge-level voltage for this part, so we publish neither the misleading figure nor our own arithmetic. Order by part number and the cartridge is correct.
One caution about the published weight. Schneider publishes the same 10.0 kg net weight and the same tray dimensions for the APCRBC148 and APCRBC151 as well, which cannot be true of three cartridges of different capacity. For the APCRBC150 the figures come from a genuine Schneider product data sheet, so they are the best-supported of the three — but treat them as a planning guide rather than a certified freight weight.
Can I change it myself? The APCRBC150 ships fully assembled with its connectors fitted, so the physical exchange is a slide-out, slide-in operation and no tools are needed. Schneider Electric does not publish a statement for this part about whether it may be changed while the equipment is energised, so we do not make that claim. The installation guide packed in the box is the authority on whether the unit must be shut down first — read it before you start, and if you would rather not do it yourself we can arrange for it to be done.

A word on weight. APC replacement battery cartridges range from about 2.5 kg for a single-block Back-UPS part to over 30 kg for a large Smart-UPS On-Line tray. The net weight in the specification table above is the figure to use when you plan handling, lift assistance and courier booking. A great many published weights for these parts, in reseller catalogues and in APC's own syndicated feed data, are badly out and usually far too low. Treat a weight you find elsewhere with suspicion, and if you need a certified figure for freight or for a lifting assessment, ask us.

Why there are no direct PDF links here. Schneider Electric's public download host redirects between domains and has repeatedly returned a different cartridge's document than the one requested. Rather than publish a link that may hand you the wrong specification, we link the Schneider landing pages above, which are stable and always resolve to the correct document. If you need the PDF itself for a tender, a service contract or an audit file, email sales@sourceit.com.sg and we will send the current revision for your exact part number.
Frequently Asked Questions — APCRBC150
Does the APCRBC150 fit the rackmount SMC3000RMI2U?
No. It is the cartridge for the SMC3000I tower only. Schneider's data sheet for the 2U rackmount SMC3000RMI2U names APCRBC151. Several reseller listings claim the 150 fits both; Schneider's own documents contradict them.
How do I know this is the right cartridge for my UPS?
Match the part number, not the shape. Several APC cartridges share an identical tray and identical external dimensions while carrying different cells, different voltages and different retention hardware, so measuring the old one tells you very little. Open the UPS battery compartment and read the label on the cartridge you are removing, or check your UPS model's documentation for the APC replacement battery part number it names. If the part number on your old cartridge reads APCRBC150, this is the one. If you are unsure, send us your UPS model and serial number and we will confirm it in writing before you order.
Why is no voltage or capacity listed?
Schneider does not publish a capacity for this cartridge at all, and the voltage it markets across this group of parts is a per-block figure rather than a cartridge rating — a single 12 V block could not run a 2100 W inverter, and the 10 kg tray is roughly four blocks. Rather than print a figure we can show to be wrong, or one we worked out ourselves, we leave the rows blank. Order by part number.
What operating temperature is it rated for?
0 to 45 °C, with 0 to 95% humidity, per Schneider's product data sheet. That is a comfortable margin for an air-conditioned Singapore comms room. Bear in mind that the rating is what the cartridge will survive, not the temperature at which it will last longest — sealed lead-acid life falls away steadily as ambient temperature rises, so the cooler the cabinet the better the return on the replacement.
How long will the new cartridge last?
APC does not publish a service-life figure for every cartridge, and where it does the figure is a range rather than a promise, because sealed lead-acid life is driven by ambient temperature and by how often the battery is actually discharged. As a working rule for Singapore, a cartridge in an air-conditioned server room will outlast one in a warm riser or an unconditioned comms cabinet, and every sustained rise in operating temperature shortens the life meaningfully. Plan a replacement cycle rather than waiting for the UPS to report a failed battery during an outage.
Can I fit a bigger cartridge to get more runtime?
No. The cartridge is matched to the UPS charger and to the tray. If you need materially more runtime than the SMC3000I provides at your load, the answer is a UPS class that accepts external battery packs rather than a different cartridge — typically a Smart-UPS On-Line SRT. We can size that for you.
What do I do with the old cartridge?
Sealed lead-acid batteries must not go into general waste in Singapore. The cartridge is recyclable through the licensed waste-handling channels, and the box your replacement arrives in is designed to take the exhausted unit back out. Tell us when you order and we can arrange collection of the old cartridge with the delivery of the new one.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
Yes. Every APCRBC150 cartridge sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the APCRBC150 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
