TP-Link Festa FS308G 8-Port Gigabit Smart Switch
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 8-Port Gigabit Smart Switch (Festa FS308G) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Festa FS308G is a fanless eight-port Gigabit smart switch that supplies no PoE of its own but can be powered by it: port 8 accepts PoE input, so the switch can run from an upstream PoE budget with no mains socket at the far end. That makes it the Festa unit for a ceiling void, a display cabinet or any awkward spot without power.
Powered Over Its Own Uplink
Port 8 supports PoE input, so the FS308G can draw its power from an upstream PoE switch over the same cable that carries its traffic. Alternatively it takes a 12 V DC / 1 A external adapter. The practical value is reach: a switch can go into a ceiling void above a meeting room, behind a display wall or inside a lockable cabinet where there is a data run but no socket, and the whole installation needs one cable rather than two.
No PoE Output — Check This Before You Order
The FS308G supplies no power to connected devices. It accepts PoE in on port 8 but does not pass power out to cameras or access points. If you need powered ports, the FS308GP is the same size and shape but supplies 62 W across its first four ports. The two models differ by a single letter and are easy to confuse on a purchase order.
16 Gbps Switching in a Fanless Body
Switching capacity is 16 Gbps with an 11.90 Mpps forwarding rate, which is non-blocking across all eight ports, supported by an 8 K MAC address table, a 4.1 Mbit packet buffer and 9 KB jumbo frames. The chassis is fanless and silent at 209 x 126 x 26 mm, mounting on a desk or a wall, and is rated 0–40 °C — worth checking against a ceiling void, which runs warmer than an office.
Full L2+ Feature Set for Segmentation
The software is the same L2+ platform as the rest of the Festa switch range: 16 IPv4/IPv6 IP interfaces, 32 static routes, DHCP server, DHCP relay and L2 relay, spanning tree, loopback detection, 802.1ab LLDP/LLDP-MED, IGMP snooping, rate limiting, storm control, port isolation, link aggregation, VLANs and combined and IPv6 access control lists. A remote switch in a ceiling can therefore still enforce the same VLAN and access policy as the rest of the site.
Adopted and Managed From the Cloud Console
Once adopted into the Festa Cloud-Based Controller the switch provisions itself and is managed from the Festa App or Festa Web Portal with everything else on the account — zero-touch provisioning, auto topology, multi-site management, batch firmware upgrading, batch configuration, integrated troubleshooting and alerting. For a device installed somewhere physically inconvenient, remote management is not a convenience but the point.
Ideal For
Singapore meeting rooms, display walls, ceiling voids, kiosks and lockable cabinets that need extra Gigabit ports where there is a data run but no mains socket, and installers extending a site without adding power. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

This model has no SFP slots and supplies no PoE output. TP-Link publishes no power-consumption, weight, QoS or recommended-user figure for it, so none is stated here. Note that its certification list is CE and FCC only, where the PoE models in this range also carry RoHS — reproduced as published.
Compatibility & Software Support
Festa is TP-Link's cloud-managed range for small and medium business. Every Festa switch, router and access point is adopted into one Festa Cloud-Based Controller and managed together from the Festa App or the Festa Web Portal, so a multi-site network is configured, monitored and updated from a single view rather than device by device.
| Festa Cloud-Based Controller | Supported — adopt and manage centrally, with zero-touch provisioning and batch configuration |
| Festa App | Supported — remote management from iOS and Android |
| Festa Web Portal | Supported — browser-based central management |
| Cloud Access | Free cloud access, per TP-Link's published Festa terms |
| Standalone Web Management | Supported — the switch can also be configured on its own web interface |
TP-Link publishes this caveat on the Festa range: “Festa currently offers free cloud access for centralized management and reserves the right to apply fees in the future.”

Frequently Asked Questions — Festa FS308G
Can the FS308G power a camera or access point?
No. It supplies no PoE output at all. Port 8 accepts PoE input so the switch itself can be powered from upstream, but no connected device will receive power. If you need powered ports, order the FS308GP instead — same size, 62 W across its first four ports.
Do I need the power adapter if I am using PoE input?
No, though the adapter is supplied either way. Powering the switch over port 8 from an upstream PoE source is what lets you install it where there is no socket. Make sure the upstream switch has enough spare budget for it.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty. Every Festa FS308G sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Festa build — switching, gateway, access points and optics — with local warranty and support.
