The M7400 is TP-Link's 4G LTE-Advanced pocket Wi-Fi: 300 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload over a Nano SIM, selectable dual-band Wi-Fi at 867 Mbps on 5 GHz or 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, a 1.44-inch TFT screen and a 2100 mAh battery rated for up to 8 hours. It supports up to 32 connected devices, weighs about 121 g with the battery, and is managed from the tpMiFi app.
LTE-Advanced at 300 Mbps
The built-in LTE-Advanced modem reaches 300 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload, with FDD-LTE bands B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28, TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41 and 3G fallback on B1/B5/B8. Actual mobile broadband speed depends on the network, signal strength and subscription terms.
Selectable Dual-Band Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi runs on either 5 GHz at 867 Mbps (802.11ac) or 2.4 GHz at 300 Mbps (802.11n) — selectable rather than simultaneous. 5 GHz suits a handful of nearby laptops; 2.4 GHz reaches further and suits older devices. Security covers WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, MAC filtering and hidden SSID.
2100 mAh Battery, 32 Devices
The 2100 mAh battery is included and TP-Link rates it for up to 8 hours, noting that actual battery time varies with use. Up to 32 devices can share the connection. It charges over USB-C (5V/1A external power supply).
Micro SD Sharing and tpMiFi App
A Micro SD slot takes cards up to 2 TB (sold separately) for storing and sharing files with connected devices. The tpMiFi app for iOS and Android handles data usage, settings and device management; a web interface is also available.
