TP-Link Archer MR400 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band 4G LTE Router
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band 4G LTE Router (Archer MR400) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Archer MR400 shares a mobile data connection over dual-band Wi-Fi and four wired ports. Two detachable external 4G LTE antennas and three internal Wi-Fi antennas sit in a 202 mm desktop body, and the SIM slot is all the setup a site needs - no fixed line, no ISP installation appointment. A Micro SIM card goes straight in; no adapter is supplied.
Up to 150Mbps Down, 50Mbps Up, Shared With 64 Devices
TP-Link publishes download speeds of up to 150Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps on 4G LTE for the Archer MR400, and up to 64 devices can share that connection over Wi-Fi and the wired ports. Actual throughput depends on your operator, plan, signal and the number of devices in use.
Wide 4G, 3G and 2G Band Coverage
TP-Link publishes FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 and TDD-LTE B38/B39/B40/B41 for this model, plus DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS on B1/B8 and EDGE/GPRS/GSM quad band. The TDD list is unusually broad for its class, covering 1900, 2300, 2500 and 2600 MHz. The 2G and 3G fallback matters where LTE coverage is patchy - the router drops back rather than dropping out.
AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi With Guest Networks
Wi-Fi runs IEEE 802.11ac/n/a at 5 GHz and 802.11b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, published at 867 Mbps and 300 Mbps. Three internal Wi-Fi antennas handle the local coverage while the two detachable external antennas are dedicated to the LTE radio. Separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz guest networks keep visitor devices off the working network, and published security is 64/128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK.
Three VPN Types Including IPSec Tunnels
The MR400's published VPN support is broader than most routers at this level: PPTP VPN, IPSec VPN and OpenVPN, with support for up to 10 IPSec VPN tunnels. For a branch or site office that needs to reach head office over a mobile link, that removes the need for a separate VPN appliance. Access control covers parental control, local management control, host list, access schedule and rule management.
Physical Buttons for Wi-Fi and Power
TP-Link publishes a WPS/Reset button, a wireless on/off button and a power on/off button. Physical switches are practical in a shared space - Wi-Fi can be cut without unplugging the router, and the unit can be powered down cleanly at the end of the day. Ports are 10/100 Mbps: three LAN and one LAN/WAN, the latter accepting a wired broadband feed where one is available. Power is 12V/1.5A.
Ideal For
Singapore homes, shops and site offices running on mobile data, branch locations needing IPSec back to head office, and anyone wanting a standby connection independent of the fixed line. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

TP-Link does not publish a processor, memory, net weight or reception-sensitivity row for the Archer MR400 on its Singapore page, so none is claimed here. Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications; actual throughput, coverage and device counts vary with network conditions, client limitations and environmental factors.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer MR400
Are the Ethernet ports Gigabit?
No. TP-Link publishes three 10/100Mbps LAN ports and one 10/100Mbps LAN/WAN port for the MR400. If you need Gigabit wired ports on a 4G router, look at the Archer MR500 or MR505 instead.
How fast is the 4G connection?
Up to 150Mbps download and up to 50Mbps upload on 4G LTE, with up to 64 devices sharing the connection. Real-world speeds depend on your operator, plan, signal strength and how many devices are active.
Can it run IPSec VPN?
Yes. TP-Link publishes PPTP VPN, IPSec VPN and OpenVPN for this model, with support for up to 10 IPSec VPN tunnels.
Which SIM size does it take?
A Micro SIM. TP-Link lists a Micro SIM Card for the Archer MR400, and there is one SIM card slot. No adapter is included, so ask your operator for a Micro SIM or bring a multi-size SIM cut to Micro.
