TP-Link Archer T5E AC1200 Wi-Fi Bluetooth 4.2 PCIe Adapter
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi Bluetooth 4.2 PCIe Adapter (Archer T5E) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Archer T5E is TP-Link's Wi-Fi 5 desktop card: 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth 4.2 on the same board, fitted with two detachable external antennas. It is the budget option below the Wi-Fi 6 Archer TX55E and TX3000E, and the only one of the three that TP-Link still lists for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 in both 32-bit and 64-bit.
AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5
The card runs 802.11ac on 5 GHz at up to 867 Mbps and 802.11n on 2.4 GHz at up to 300 Mbps, with fallback across 802.11a, g and b. That is enough headroom for HD and 4K streaming, video calls and general desktop use on a Wi-Fi 5 router, and it keeps working on a Wi-Fi 6 router at 802.11ac rates. Modulation runs up to 256-QAM. These are physical link rates from the IEEE specification rather than guaranteed throughput.
Bluetooth 4.2 Over USB 2.0
Bluetooth 4.2 is built onto the same card and presented over a USB 2.0 interface, with a Bluetooth USB cable supplied to connect it to the motherboard. Keyboards, mice, speakers and headsets pair without a separate dongle. If you specifically need current-generation Bluetooth for a newer headset or controller, the Archer TX55E carries Bluetooth 5.2 instead - ask us and we will point you at the right card.
Two Detachable External Antennas
TP-Link publishes two detachable external antennas for this model. Detachable matters in a desktop: a damaged antenna can be replaced on its own, and the card can be fitted with a different antenna where the case or the cabinet blocks the signal. Both a low-profile and a full-height bracket are supplied in the box, so the T5E fits slim cases and full towers without buying anything extra.
What TP-Link Publishes, and What It Does Not
TP-Link's published wireless-security row for this model is WEP, WPA/WPA2 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. No WPA3 row is published for the Archer T5E, and none is claimed here - if your network is WPA3-only, the Wi-Fi 6 cards in this range are the ones to look at. TP-Link also publishes no chipset row and no Bluetooth-profile row for this model. Certification is FCC, CE and RoHS.
Ideal For
Singapore desktops that need dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at the lowest sensible cost, and older machines still on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 where the Wi-Fi 6 cards are not an option. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer T5E
Does the Archer T5E support WPA3?
TP-Link publishes WEP, WPA/WPA2 and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK for this model and no WPA3 row, so we do not claim it. If your network runs WPA3-only, look at the Archer TX55E or TX3000E instead.
Will it work on Windows 11?
TP-Link publishes Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7 for this model. No Windows 11 entry is published, so we do not claim it. Check the driver list on the TP-Link support page linked above before buying for a Windows 11 machine.
Should I buy this or one of the Wi-Fi 6 cards?
Buy the T5E if your router is Wi-Fi 5 and you want the lowest cost, or if the PC runs Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. Buy the Archer TX55E or TX3000E if you have a Wi-Fi 6 router, want WPA3, or need Bluetooth 5.x for newer peripherals.
