TP-Link Archer MR500 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (Archer MR500) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Archer MR500 turns a mobile data SIM into a full home or small-office network. A 4G+ Cat6 modem, AC1200 dual-band Wi-Fi and four Gigabit Ethernet ports sit in one 202 mm desktop unit with two detachable external LTE antennas, so a site with no fixed broadband - or one that needs a standby line - gets wired and wireless connectivity from a nano SIM alone.
4G+ Cat6 With Carrier Aggregation on Singapore Bands
The MR500 supports 4G+ Cat6 to boost the data speeds of up to 300 Mbps, aggregating two LTE carriers rather than using a single one. TP-Link publishes FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28 and TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41, covering the 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz FDD bands and the 2300 and 2500 MHz TDD bands that Singapore operators use, with DC-HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS on B1/B3/B5/B8 as fallback. The SIM slot takes a nano SIM. A WAN Failover function is published, so the router can hold a connection when one path drops.
AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi at 300 and 867 Mbps
Wi-Fi runs IEEE 802.11a/n/ac on 5 GHz and 802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz, published at 867 Mbps and 300 Mbps respectively. The 2.4 GHz radio carries range-sensitive traffic and older devices; the 5 GHz radio takes video and anything latency-sensitive. Separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz guest networks are supported, which matters in a shop or clinic where customer devices should not share the working network. Security is published as 64/128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2 Personal and WPA/WPA2 Enterprise.
Four Gigabit Ports, Not Fast Ethernet
The MR500 carries one 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN/WAN port and three 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN ports. That combined port can accept a wired broadband feed, so the same box serves as the main router on fixed line and falls back to the SIM, or runs on the SIM alone. Gigabit throughout is the practical difference from the older 4G routers in this range, which are 10/100 only - a NAS or a wired workstation is not capped at 100 Mbps.
Cloud, VPN and Parental Controls Built In
Management is published as TP-Link Cloud, local management and remote management. The router includes a VPN server supporting PPTP VPN and OpenVPN, so a remote worker can dial back into the office network without extra hardware. Parental controls cover URL filtering and time controls; QoS prioritises traffic by device; and the firewall set is published as DoS protection, IPv4 SPI firewall, IPv6 firewall, IP and MAC address binding, access control and service filtering. Dynamic DNS supports TP-Link, DynDNS and NO-IP.
Ideal For
Singapore homes and small offices without fixed broadband, retail units and worksites that run on mobile data, and businesses that want a standby internet path on a separate carrier. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer MR500
Does the Archer MR500 come with a SIM card?
No. The router takes a nano SIM from your own mobile operator, and you supply the data plan. Insert the SIM, power on, and the router connects using the bands listed in the Network Type row above.
What LTE category is the Archer MR500?
4G+ Cat6, with internet downlink speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Cat6 aggregates two LTE carriers rather than using a single one, and actual speeds depend on your operator, plan and signal at the site.
Can it also run on a normal fixed broadband line?
Yes. One of the four Gigabit ports is a LAN/WAN port, so the MR500 can take a wired broadband feed instead of, or alongside, the SIM. TP-Link publishes a WAN Failover function for this model.
What is the difference between this and the Archer MR505?
Both are 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 routers with the same published Wi-Fi rates and band list. The MR500 has four Gigabit ports (1 LAN/WAN + 3 LAN); the MR505 has three (1 LAN/WAN + 2 LAN) plus two external SMA-F antenna interfaces, and its published wireless security adds WPA3. Ask us if you are unsure which suits the site.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link's published replacement warranty policy. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project?
Yes. Send us the quantity and the sites involved and we will quote the routers, any antennas or accessories, and local warranty support.
