The Targus DOCK429GL-90 is built for people who move between desks, meeting rooms and home offices rather than staying parked at one workstation. At 5.25 x 2.63 x 0.69 inches and roughly half a pound, it fits in a laptop bag's front pocket, yet it still drives dual external monitors, moves data at up to 20Gbps over USB4, and passes through up to 140W of power to the host notebook - specs that used to mean a much larger desktop dock.
Dual 4K or Single 8K, Your Choice
Video comes from 2x HDMI 2.0 ports plus a USB-C Multi-Function DisplayPort (MFDP) port that carries both video and 10Gbps USB data. Between them the dock supports a single display at up to 8K/30Hz or dual displays at up to 4K/60Hz each - flexible enough for a two-monitor home office setup one day and a single large conference-room screen the next, without swapping hardware.
140W EPR Pass-Through Keeps the Laptop Charger at Home
The dock's power pass-through tops out at 140W when paired with a USB PD 3.1 Extended Power Range (EPR) charger and a host notebook that supports EPR charging, and steps down to 100W on standard PD 3.0 hosts. Either way, the practical effect is the same: one power brick feeds the dock, and the dock feeds the laptop, so a second charger stops being something to pack. The dock itself is built from up to 75% post-consumer recycled aluminum and plastic, in line with Targus's EcoSmart design approach.

Compatibility
Host connection. Works with USB4 notebooks and is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB-C hosts running DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Operating systems. Supports Windows, macOS, Android and Chrome OS/Linux hosts. Video output count and resolution depend on the host's own USB-C, USB4 or Thunderbolt implementation.
Monitor compatibility. Any monitor with an HDMI input works with the two HDMI 2.0 ports; a third monitor or higher-bandwidth link can use the USB-C MFDP port on a display or adapter that supports it.
Power adapter. To reach the full 140W pass-through figure, both the wall charger feeding the dock and the notebook receiving power must support USB PD 3.1 Extended Power Range (EPR); older PD 3.0 hardware on either end caps the pass-through at 100W.
