WiFi 6 AX5400 for Busy Spaces
The NETGEAR WAX628 delivers up to 5.4 Gbps of aggregate WiFi 6 throughput across 6 streams: 4x4 on 5 GHz (up to 4.8 Gbps, 160 MHz channels) and 2x2 on 2.4 GHz (up to 600 Mbps). OFDMA, MU-MIMO, BSS Coloring, Target Wake Time and Beamforming+ keep performance high as devices multiply.
2.5G Multi-Gig PoE Uplink
A 2.5GBASE-T PoE port lets the WAX628 pass its full WiFi 6 speed to the network over existing cabling, powered by an 802.3at PoE+ switch. A second Gigabit port connects a wired device such as a printer or IP phone.
Managed with NETGEAR Insight
Set up, monitor and manage the WAX628 from the NETGEAR Insight app or cloud portal, with up to 8 SSIDs mapped to VLANs, band steering, guest networks with captive portal, bandwidth management and Instant Mesh with other NETGEAR Insight Pro WiFi access points.

Powering the Access Point
Power the WAX628 from an IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) switch or injector for full performance; 802.3af PoE runs at approximately 60% of full throughput. Use a 2.5G-capable switch port to get the most from its Multi-Gig uplink. A 12V DC 2.5A adapter (PAV12V25-10000S) can be used instead but is not included.
Mesh Compatibility
Instant Mesh with other NETGEAR Insight Pro WiFi access points such as the WAX615, WAX630 and WAX630E.
