Logitech PTZ Pro 2 Video Conferencing Camera
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Logitech PTZ Pro 2 Video Conferencing Camera (960-001184) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Motorised PTZ Camera for Classrooms, Auditoriums and Large Meeting Rooms
Logitech positions the PTZ Pro 2 as its camera solution for classrooms, auditoriums and large meeting rooms — spaces where a fixed webcam simply cannot reach. It is a true motorised pan-tilt-zoom camera with an infrared remote and stored presets, connecting to a host computer over a single USB 2.0 cable. Deliberately, it carries no microphone and no speaker: Logitech designed it to be deployed alongside third-party installed room audio, which is exactly what most lecture theatres and training rooms in Singapore already have.
10x HD Zoom with 5x Optical, and H.264 Hardware Encoding
A 3 MP sensor produces Full HD 1080p at 30 fps, and H.264 UVC 1.5 with Scalable Video Coding moves compression onto the camera rather than the PC — useful when the host is a modest classroom machine. The 10x HD zoom is 5x optical plus 2x digital according to Logitech’s own spec pages, so we quote it that way rather than as 10x optical. Field of view is 90° diagonal at the wide end, narrowing to 22° at full tele, with autofocus behind a Logitech glass lens.
Three Presets, Far-End Camera Control and a 8.5 m Remote
Three camera presets plus a home button let a presenter jump between a lectern shot, a whiteboard shot and a wide room shot without fiddling. The supplied infrared remote works at up to 8.5 m and ships with its CR2032 battery. Far-end camera control is supported on platforms that offer it, so a remote participant can drive the camera themselves rather than asking someone in the room to do it.
Tripod Thread, Dual-Purpose Mount and Kensington Slot Included
The camera measures 146.2 x 130.8 x 130.3 mm and weighs 580 g, with a standard 1/4-20 UNC tripod thread and a dual-purpose bracket included for either wall or table mounting. A Kensington security slot is built in, which matters in shared teaching spaces. The USB cable is 3 m with a power-adapter connection, and the AC adapter ships with regional plugs.

Frequently Asked Questions — Logitech PTZ Pro 2
Does the PTZ Pro 2 have a microphone or speaker?
No, and that is deliberate. Logitech states the camera is designed to be deployed with third-party installed audio solutions. In a classroom or auditorium you will normally already have ceiling microphones and a PA system. For a smaller room where you need audio in the same box, look at GROUP or MeetUp instead.
Is the 10x zoom optical?
Partly. Logitech’s support and spec pages state 10x HD zoom made up of 5x optical plus 2x digital. The marketing datasheet shortens this to “10x lossless full HD zoom”. No Logitech source claims 10x optical, so we do not either. Pan and tilt are genuinely motorised.
What is the actual pan and tilt range?
Logitech’s own sources disagree, so here are both: the PTZ Pro 2 datasheet states mechanical 260° pan and 130° tilt, while Logitech’s support tech-spec table and spec hub state ±90° pan and +35° / −45° tilt. If the exact sweep matters for your room design, tell SourceIT and we will confirm against the unit before you commit.
What room size is it suitable for?
Logitech describes it as its camera for classrooms, auditoriums and large meeting rooms but does not publish a room dimension or seat count, so we will not invent one. What is published is the 90° wide field of view and 5x optical zoom, which is what lets it pick out a speaker at the back of a large space. Send us your room dimensions and we will size it properly.
How does PTZ Pro 2 compare with the Rally Camera?
The Logitech Rally Camera is the current-generation equivalent: 4K at 30 fps instead of 1080p, 15x HD zoom instead of 10x, USB 3.0 instead of USB 2.0, plus RightLight Wide Dynamic Range and RightSight auto-framing. PTZ Pro 2 remains the lower-cost option where 1080p is sufficient and the existing infrastructure is USB 2.0.
Do I need a room PC or a licence?
You need a host computer — a laptop, a lectern PC or a room PC. PTZ Pro 2 is a USB peripheral, not an appliance, and runs no room software of its own. No Logitech licence is required. Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms licences, if you use them, come from Microsoft or Zoom.
Can it be wall mounted or ceiling mounted?
A dual-purpose bracket for wall or tabletop mounting is included, and there is a standard 1/4-20 UNC tripod thread for other mounting hardware. There is also a Kensington security slot, which is worth using in a shared teaching space. SourceIT can arrange installation in Singapore.
Does the Logitech PTZ Pro 2 come with a Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every Logitech PTZ Pro 2 sold by SourceIT comes with 2 years local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice.
