A 34-Inch Curved Ultrawide That Docks a Laptop on One Cable
The ThinkVision T34WD-40 is 3440 x 1440 at 21:9 on a 1500R curved VA panel, with a USB-C port carrying video, up to 100 W of charging and gigabit Ethernet. It gives roughly the horizontal working area of two 24-inch screens with no bezel through the middle, on one cable to the laptop.
3000:1 Contrast, and 120 Hz
The VA panel publishes 3000:1 typical contrast — twice the 1500:1 of the IPS models in this range — at 300 cd/m², with a 48–120 Hz refresh range and 99% sRGB and 99% BT.709 coverage (CIE 1931). Deep blacks on a large panel make dark-mode applications and dimly-lit rooms noticeably more comfortable.
More Power Than the Previous Generation Ultrawide
Against the T34w-30 it replaces, this model raises USB-C power delivery from 75 W to 100 W, moves from TCO 9.0 to TCO generation 10, and adds a 120 Hz refresh range. The panel technology, curvature and resolution are unchanged. If you are adding to a desk that already has a T34w-30, note the charging difference.
It Does Not Pivot, and There Is No DisplayPort Out
Two plain facts. Lenovo publishes tilt, swivel and 155 mm of lift for this monitor but no pivot — correct for a curved 21:9 panel, which would be unusable in portrait. And there is no DisplayPort output, so a second display cannot be chained from it.

Compatibility & Fit
What "docking" means on this monitor, precisely. One USB-C cable from the laptop carries the picture, up to 100 W of charging, gigabit-class Ethernet from the monitor's RJ45 port, and the downstream USB ports. Close the laptop lid, plug in one cable, and the desk is live. Check your machine's own power requirement against that figure first — it covers the great majority of business ultrabooks, but a mobile workstation with a 170 W adapter should keep using it.
An ultrawide instead of two monitors. 3440 x 1440 gives roughly the horizontal space of two 24-inch screens, with no bezel down the middle of your working area, one stand, one power cable and one video connection. For anyone working across a document and a reference, a codebase and a terminal, or several monitoring windows, it is the change that makes a desk feel materially bigger.
The VA trade-off, stated plainly. This is a Vertical Alignment panel, not IPS. You gain contrast — 3000:1 against 1500:1 on the IPS models in this range — and VA behaves differently off-axis from IPS, although Lenovo publishes 178° viewing angles for both. For productivity and for rooms with controlled lighting, the contrast is the better deal. For colour-critical work it is not, and neither is any monitor in this range: Lenovo publishes no Delta E figure for any of them.
Decoding the model names in this range, because the letters do real work and Lenovo does not publish a key. D means USB-C docking — a 100 W upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Ethernet and usually a DisplayPort output. v means video conferencing — a built-in 5-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello and a microphone. t means touch. Q means QHD, UD means 4K UHD and WD means an ultrawide. So a T24-4v has the camera but no dock, while a T24D-4v has both. These are read off Lenovo's own product titles rather than from a naming document, because Lenovo publishes none.
No pivot, and that is deliberate. Lenovo publishes tilt, swivel and 155 mm of height adjustment but no pivot. A 1500R curved 21:9 panel would be unusable in portrait, so nothing is being withheld here.
Desk depth matters. At 806 mm wide and 220 mm deep with the stand, this monitor wants a desk of a reasonable size and a viewer sitting roughly centred. The 1500R curve is calculated for a normal desk viewing distance; sitting well off-centre or unusually far back undoes some of its benefit. If the desk is shallow or shared side by side, tell us and we will say honestly whether it is the right choice.

No. Lenovo publishes tilt, swivel and 155 mm of height adjustment but no pivot for this model, which is the right call — a 1500R curved 21:9 panel would not be usable rotated.
Is one ultrawide better than two monitors?
For most people who have used both, yes: no bezel through the middle of the working area, one device to dock and mount, one cable to the laptop. Two separate monitors are better if you genuinely want two independent full-screen displays, or if you want one of them in portrait.
Can I chain a second display from it?
No — there is no DisplayPort output on this model. Only the T24D-40, T27QD-40 and T27QD-4v in this range publish one.
