The v in T24-4v means video conferencing. Lenovo builds a 5.0-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello face sign-in into the top of the panel, alongside an integrated microphone, 3 W x 2 speakers and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack. The desk needs no separate webcam, headset or speakerphone.
Windows Hello Is the Underrated Half of It
The IR sensor means the machine unlocks by looking at you — no password typed at a hot desk, no fingerprint reader needed, and the same camera handles the call. In an office with a clean-desk or shared-desk policy, that is a daily convenience and a small security improvement at once.
It Is Not a Docking Monitor
Worth being clear about, because the camera makes people assume otherwise. The USB-C port here is downstream and data-only, with no video and no published power-delivery figure. The camera and hub reach the PC over a USB-B cable. If you want the camera and one-cable docking, that is the T24D-4v, which adds 100 W USB-C, Ethernet, a DisplayPort output, 5 W speakers and Microsoft Teams certification.
The Camera Costs You Bezel, and That Is Fine
Housing the camera and speakers gives this model a 40.8 mm bottom bezel against 10.5 mm on the plain T24-40, and a 3-side NearEdgeless design rather than 4-side. It is a visibly different-looking product. In exchange the desk loses a webcam, its clamp and its cable.

Compatibility & Fit
How to wire it so the camera works. The camera, microphone, speakers and USB hub all reach the computer over the USB-B upstream cable, which is supplied. Run your video cable (HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA) and the USB-B cable. Connect only the video cable and you get a picture with no camera and no sound — the single most common setup mistake on conferencing monitors, and entirely avoidable.
Read this before you assume it docks. This monitor has a USB-C port, but it is a downstream, data-only port rated at 15 W. It carries no video and will not usefully charge a laptop. Lenovo reserves single-cable docking for the D models in this range — the T24D-40, T24D-4v, T24D-4t, T27QD-40, T27QD-4v, T27UD-40, T32UD-40 and T34WD-40 — which have a USB-C upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, 100 W power delivery and Ethernet. They are all linked in the ordering table below. If one cable to the laptop is what you need, buy one of those instead; if the monitor will sit on a desktop PC, this model gives you the same panel for less.
Decoding the model names in this range, because the letters do real work and Lenovo does not publish a key. D means USB-C docking — a 100 W upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Ethernet and usually a DisplayPort output. v means video conferencing — a built-in 5-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello and a microphone. t means touch. Q means QHD, UD means 4K UHD and WD means an ultrawide. So a T24-4v has the camera but no dock, while a T24D-4v has both. These are read off Lenovo's own product titles rather than from a naming document, because Lenovo publishes none.
Windows Hello, and what it needs. The IR sensor supports Windows Hello face sign-in on Windows 10 and 11. It works over the USB connection like any external Hello camera. If your fleet is managed with a policy that restricts biometric sign-in, that is a settings question rather than a hardware one — the hardware is here either way.
Two things Lenovo does not publish, which we will not invent. There is no published privacy shutter specification for this model, and no Microsoft Teams certification. Its docking sibling the T24D-4v is Teams certified with the same camera; this one is not listed. If either matters for your procurement, ask us and we will get it in writing from Lenovo.
Cables. This model ships with an HDMI 2.0 cable and a USB-A to USB-B cable — and no DisplayPort cable, which is the opposite of most models in this range. Check which port you intend to use before the order goes in.

Do I need a separate cable for the camera?
Yes, and it is supplied. The camera, microphone, speakers and USB hub all reach the PC over the USB-A to USB-B cable in the box. Run that alongside your video cable. If you connect video only, you will have a picture and nothing else.
Does the camera have a privacy shutter?
Lenovo does not publish one for this model, so we will not claim one. If a physical shutter is a requirement at your site, tell us and we will get a written answer from Lenovo before you order.
Is it certified for Microsoft Teams?
Not that Lenovo publishes. Its docking sibling the T24D-4v carries an explicit Microsoft Teams certification with the same 5-megapixel camera; the T24-4v does not appear on that list. If Teams certification is a procurement requirement, buy the T24D-4v.
Can I dock my laptop to it?
No. The USB-C port on this model is downstream and data-only, with no video and no published charging figure. The T24D-4v is the docking version — same camera, plus 100 W USB-C, gigabit Ethernet, a DisplayPort output and 5 W speakers.
Why is the bottom bezel so much thicker than the T24-40?
Because the camera, microphone and speakers are housed in it — 40.8 mm here against 10.5 mm on the plain T24-40. It is the visible cost of putting a conferencing system inside a monitor, and in return the desk needs no separate webcam or speakerphone.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
