The ThinkVision T32UD-40 puts 3840 x 2160 on a 31.5-inch panel with 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) colour and 1.07 billion colours, and docks over USB-C at 10 Gbps with DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode at HBR3, up to 100 W of charging and gigabit Ethernet.
4K Is Easier to Live With at 31.5 Inches Than at 27
This is the practical argument for the larger panel. At 27 inches, 4K needs display scaling to be readable. At 31.5 inches the same pixels are spread further, so many people run it comfortably at a lower scaling factor and get more genuinely usable desktop space. If you want 4K and have the desk depth, this is the easier size to adopt across a fleet.
The Same Panel Quality as the 27-Inch, With More of It
350 cd/m², 1500:1 contrast, 99% sRGB and 99% BT.709 (CIE 1931), 48–60 Hz, a 4-side ultra-thin chassis and 155 mm of height adjustment with full pivot. Nothing is given up for the size except power: 25.5 W typical and 195 W maximum, with a TEC of 102.8 kWh — the highest in this range.
No DisplayPort Output, and an F-Class Energy Label
Two things to note before a tender. This model has no DisplayPort out, so it cannot chain a second display. And its EU energy label is F class — the panel area and 100 W of outbound charging account for it. If your procurement has an energy-class floor, check it against this figure early.

Compatibility & Fit
What "docking" means on this monitor, precisely. One USB-C cable from the laptop carries the picture, up to 100 W of charging, gigabit-class Ethernet from the monitor's RJ45 port, and the downstream USB ports. Close the laptop lid, plug in one cable, and the desk is live. Check your machine's own power requirement against that figure first — it covers the great majority of business ultrabooks, but a mobile workstation with a 170 W adapter should keep using it.
Check HBR3 support on the laptop. 4K at 60 Hz over a single USB-C cable requires DisplayPort Alt Mode at HBR3. Most business laptops from the last several years support it; an older machine limited to HBR2 will run this panel at 4K 30 Hz, which is workable for reading and poor for anything that moves. Tell us the laptop model and we will confirm before you order.
Why 31.5 inches is the easier 4K. The same 3840 x 2160 spread over a larger panel means larger physical pixels and therefore more comfortable reading at a lower display-scaling factor. Many people run a 31.5-inch 4K at 100% or 125% where they would need 150% on a 27-inch — and the lower the scaling, the more actual working space you keep. If 4K is the target, this size is the friendlier way to get there.
Decoding the model names in this range, because the letters do real work and Lenovo does not publish a key. D means USB-C docking — a 100 W upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Ethernet and usually a DisplayPort output. v means video conferencing — a built-in 5-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello and a microphone. t means touch. Q means QHD, UD means 4K UHD and WD means an ultrawide. So a T24-4v has the camera but no dock, while a T24D-4v has both. These are read off Lenovo's own product titles rather than from a naming document, because Lenovo publishes none.
Power, honestly. At 25.5 W typical and 195 W maximum with a TEC of 102.8 kWh, this is the heaviest consumer in the range — panel area plus 100 W going out to the laptop. The EU energy label is F class. If a tender sets an energy-class floor, check it against this figure before specifying.
No DisplayPort output. Two screens from one laptop will need two cables to the laptop, or a separate dock. Only the T24D-40, T27QD-40 and T27QD-4v in this range have a DisplayPort out.
Cables. A DisplayPort 1.4 cable and a USB-C to USB-C Gen 2 cable (1.5 m) are supplied. Keep the Gen 2 cable with the monitor — a lower-specification replacement may not carry 4K at 60 Hz.

Both, depending which Lenovo page you read. Lenovo's engineering specification says 31.5 inches; Lenovo's own Singapore product title rounds it to 32. We publish the engineering figure in the specification table and note the marketing name here, so the two never quietly contradict each other.
Is 4K easier to read at this size than at 27 inches?
