The ThinkVision T27UD-40 runs 3840 x 2160 across 27 inches with 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) colour, and docks over a USB-C port running at 10 Gbps with DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode at HBR3 and up to 100 W of charging, plus gigabit Ethernet. The faster USB-C generation is not a marketing detail here β HBR3 is what 4K at 60 Hz over one cable requires.
HBR3 and 10 Gbps: Why This Model's USB-C Is Different
Most monitors in this range use a 5 Gbps USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode at HBR2, which is enough for QHD. A 4K panel needs more bandwidth, so Lenovo specifies USB 10 Gbps (3.2 Gen 2) with HBR3 here. Your laptop needs to support HBR3 over USB-C to get 4K at 60 Hz on one cable β most business machines from the last few years do, but tell us the model and we will check.
48β60 Hz, Not 120 Hz
Worth catching before you compare specification sheets. The QHD and Full HD models in this range run 48β120 Hz; the 4K models are 48β60 Hz. That is a bandwidth limit, not a shortcoming β 4K at 60 Hz is the right target for a business display, and no office workload needs more.
No DisplayPort Output, and a 4-Star TΓV Rating
Two honest notes. This model has no DisplayPort out, so it cannot chain a second display β only the T24D-40, T27QD-40 and T27QD-4v in this range can. And its TΓV Rheinland Eye Comfort rating is 4-star rather than the 5-star of most models here. Neither is a fault; both are things a comparison table would otherwise blur.

Compatibility & Fit
What "docking" means on this monitor, precisely. One USB-C cable from the laptop carries the picture, up to 100 W of charging, gigabit-class Ethernet from the monitor's RJ45 port, and the downstream USB ports. Close the laptop lid, plug in one cable, and the desk is live. Check your machine's own power requirement against that figure first β it covers the great majority of business ultrabooks, but a mobile workstation with a 170 W adapter should keep using it.
The one compatibility check worth making before you order. Getting 4K at 60 Hz over a single USB-C cable requires the laptop to support DisplayPort Alt Mode at HBR3. Most business laptops from the last several years do. Some older or lower-specification machines only manage HBR2, which will drive this panel at 4K 30 Hz β usable but unpleasant for mouse movement. Send us the laptop model and we will confirm it before you commit.
4K at 27 inches, and display scaling. At this size, 3840 x 2160 gives very fine pixels; nearly everyone runs it at 125% or 150% scaling in Windows, at which point it looks superb and provides more usable space than QHD. The caution is older line-of-business software that scales badly. If that describes your fleet, the QHD T27QD-40 is the safer specification β same dock, same stand, no scaling questions.
Decoding the model names in this range, because the letters do real work and Lenovo does not publish a key. D means USB-C docking β a 100 W upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Ethernet and usually a DisplayPort output. v means video conferencing β a built-in 5-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello and a microphone. t means touch. Q means QHD, UD means 4K UHD and WD means an ultrawide. So a T24-4v has the camera but no dock, while a T24D-4v has both. These are read off Lenovo's own product titles rather than from a naming document, because Lenovo publishes none.
No second-display output. Unlike the T27QD-40, this model has no DisplayPort out. Two 4K screens from one laptop means two cables back to the laptop, or a separate dock. Worth planning before the desks are built.
Cables. A DisplayPort 1.4 cable and a USB-C to USB-C Gen 2 cable (1.5 m) are supplied. That Gen 2 cable is the one that carries 4K at 60 Hz β keep it with the monitor rather than swapping in a generic USB-C cable, which may not have the bandwidth.

Keep the supplied USB-C cable with the monitor. It is a Gen 2 cable, and a lower-specification replacement may not carry 4K at 60 Hz. No HDMI cable and no webcam are included.

Will my laptop drive 4K at 60 Hz over one USB-C cable?
It needs to support DisplayPort Alt Mode at HBR3. Most business laptops from the last several years do. A machine limited to HBR2 will run this panel at 4K 30 Hz over USB-C, which is workable for static content but poor for mouse movement. Tell us the laptop model and we will check it before you order.
Why is it 60 Hz when the QHD models do 120?
Bandwidth. Driving 3840 x 2160 takes roughly four times the data of Full HD, and the connection budget goes into resolution rather than refresh rate. 4K at 60 Hz is the correct target for a business display; no office workload benefits from more.
Can I chain a second monitor from it?
No. The T27UD-40 has no DisplayPort output. Only the T24D-40, T27QD-40 and T27QD-4v in this range publish one. For two screens from one laptop here, you will need two cables to the laptop or a separate dock β ask us and we will plan it with you.
Should I buy 4K or QHD at 27 inches?
4K if your software scales well and you want maximum detail; QHD if you want a screen that is sharp at 100% scaling with nothing to configure. The T27QD-40 has the same dock, the same stand and the same 100 W charging β and adds a DisplayPort output that this model lacks. Both are in the ordering table above.
Do I have to use the cable that comes with it?
You should. The supplied USB-C cable is a Gen 2 cable rated for the bandwidth this panel needs. A generic or charge-oriented USB-C cable may deliver power but not 4K at 60 Hz, and the symptom looks like a monitor fault rather than a cable problem.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
