Lenovo ThinkVision T27QD-40 27-inch QHD Monitor
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Lenovo ThinkVision T27QD-40 (64AAGAR2MY) - 3 Years Local Warranty
27-Inch QHD With a 100 W Dock, Gigabit Ethernet and a DisplayPort Output
The ThinkVision T27QD-40 is the docking version of the 27-inch QHD panel: one USB-C cable carrying video, up to 100 W of charging, gigabit Ethernet and three USB ports, plus a DisplayPort 1.4 output for a second screen. The panel is the same 2560 x 1440 at 350 cd/m², 1500:1 and true 8-bit colour.
A DisplayPort Output, Which Most of This Range Does Not Have
Only three monitors in the -40 generation publish a DisplayPort out: this one, the T24D-40 and the T27QD-4v. The 4K T27UD-40 and T32UD-40 and the ultrawide T34WD-40 do not. If running a second display from the monitor rather than back to the laptop is part of your plan, that narrows the choice considerably.
The Whole Desk on One Cable
Laptop closed in a stand, one USB-C cable, and the user has a 27-inch QHD screen, a wired gigabit connection, three USB ports for keyboard, mouse and headset, and a charging laptop. Unplug the cable and walk to a meeting. For hot-desking this is the specification that makes the desk work without instructions.
What It Does Not Have
No speakers and no 3.5 mm audio jack — there is no audio path through this monitor. No camera with this part number; Lenovo footnotes the MC60 webcam in its box list to other model codes. No KVM switch is published for any model in this generation.
Specification note. Every figure on this page is taken from Lenovo's own PSREF specification sheet for the ThinkVision T27QD-40, with any item drawn from Lenovo's product datasheet instead labelled as such in the table. Lenovo publishes monitor specifications per model rather than per part number — the PSREF sheet we link does not itself list this SKU, and the suffix on a part number governs market and packaging rather than the panel or the ports. Where Lenovo publishes no figure, this page says so rather than estimating one, and where two Lenovo documents disagree we show the disagreement. Specifications and prices are subject to change by Lenovo without notice.

Compatibility & Fit
What "docking" means on this monitor, precisely. One USB-C cable from the laptop carries the picture, up to 100 W of charging, gigabit-class Ethernet from the monitor's RJ45 port, and the downstream USB ports. Close the laptop lid, plug in one cable, and the desk is live. Check your machine's own power requirement against that figure first — it covers the great majority of business ultrabooks, but a mobile workstation with a 170 W adapter should keep using it.
Two screens from one laptop cable. Connect the laptop to this monitor over USB-C, then run a second display out of the DisplayPort 1.4 output. That is two screens, a wired network and a charging laptop on a single cable to the machine. Lenovo publishes the port but does not state a maximum chain length and does not use the phrase "daisy chain", so if you are planning three or more displays, tell us and we will confirm the topology with Lenovo before you commit.
Decoding the model names in this range, because the letters do real work and Lenovo does not publish a key. D means USB-C docking — a 100 W upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Ethernet and usually a DisplayPort output. v means video conferencing — a built-in 5-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello and a microphone. t means touch. Q means QHD, UD means 4K UHD and WD means an ultrawide. So a T24-4v has the camera but no dock, while a T24D-4v has both. These are read off Lenovo's own product titles rather than from a naming document, because Lenovo publishes none.
Why QHD rather than 4K on a docking monitor. At 2560 x 1440 the picture is sharp at 100% display scaling, and the USB-C connection carries it comfortably at HBR2. The 4K models in this range need HBR3 and a 10 Gbps USB-C connection to do the same job. If your fleet mixes laptop generations, QHD is the more forgiving specification.
No audio path at all. No speakers, no 3.5 mm jack. Headsets plug into the laptop. If audio has to come from the monitor, the T27QD-4v is the same dock with 5 W x 2 speakers, a 5-megapixel camera, a microphone, a headset jack and Microsoft Teams certification.
Cables. A DisplayPort 1.4 cable and a USB-C to USB-C cable are supplied. No HDMI cable is included.

PSREF is Lenovo's own Product Specifications Reference and is the source for every figure on this page unless the table says otherwise. PSREF publishes its spec sheets per model rather than per part number, so this SKU does not appear inside the PDF itself; a per-part-number detail page also exists at psref.lenovo.com and will render in a normal browser if you need this exact configuration confirmed before ordering. Ask us and we will pull it for you.
Frequently Asked Questions — Lenovo ThinkVision T27QD-40
Can I run two monitors from one laptop cable?
Yes. Connect the laptop to this monitor over USB-C and run the second display from the DisplayPort 1.4 output. Only three monitors in this generation have a DisplayPort out — this one, the T24D-40 and the T27QD-4v. Lenovo publishes no maximum chain length, so for three or more displays ask us to check first.
How much power does it deliver to the laptop?
Up to 100 W over USB-C, using Power Delivery 3.0, alongside DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode video and gigabit Ethernet. That covers essentially every business ultrabook and most 15-inch machines.
Does it have speakers?
No, and no headphone jack either. If the desk needs audio from the monitor, the T27QD-4v is the same dock with 5 W x 2 speakers, a camera, a microphone, an audio combo jack and Microsoft Teams certification. It is linked in the ordering table above.
Does a webcam come with it?
No. Lenovo's box-contents list mentions the MC60 webcam but footnotes it to different model codes than this part number. We can quote an MC60 separately, or point you at the T27QD-4v which has a camera built in.
Does it have a KVM switch?
Lenovo publishes no KVM for any monitor in this -40 generation, including this one. If a KVM is a requirement, the previous-generation T32p-30 and several ThinkVision P-series models publish one — ask us and we will find the right fit.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
