PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Lenovo ThinkVision T27Q-40 (64A6GAR6MY) - 3 Years Local Warranty

27-Inch QHD With a 4-Side Ultra-Thin Bezel and True 8-Bit Colour

The ThinkVision T27Q-40 runs 2560 x 1440 across 27 inches — the resolution most people should be buying at this size. Lenovo publishes 350 cd/m², 1500:1 contrast, a 48–120 Hz refresh range, true 8-bit colour and 99% sRGB with 99% BT.709 (CIE 1931), in a chassis with a 2.0 mm bezel on all four sides.

QHD Is the Right Resolution for a 27-Inch Desk

Full HD at 27 inches gives 82 dpi and looks coarse. 4K at 27 inches needs display scaling to be readable. QHD sits between them: sharp at 100% scaling, with substantially more working area than Full HD, and no scaling settings to get wrong across a fleet. For most 27-inch office desks this is the correct specification.

It Is Not a Docking Monitor

Despite sitting in the same family as several docks, the T27Q-40 has a USB-B upstream port, no Ethernet, and a USB-C that is downstream, data-only, 15 W with no DisplayPort Alt Mode. There is no single-cable laptop docking here. The docking 27-inch QHD model is the T27QD-40, linked below.

The Only Model in This Range That Ships an HDMI Cable

A small but practical difference: the T27Q-40 comes with an HDMI 2.0 cable and a USB-B to USB-A cable, and no DisplayPort or USB-C cable. Every other model here ships DisplayPort and USB-C instead. Check which port you plan to use before ordering.

Specification note. Every figure on this page is taken from Lenovo's own PSREF specification sheet for the ThinkVision T27Q-40, with any item drawn from Lenovo's product datasheet instead labelled as such in the table. Lenovo publishes monitor specifications per model rather than per part number — the PSREF sheet we link does not itself list this SKU, and the suffix on a part number governs market and packaging rather than the panel or the ports. Where Lenovo publishes no figure, this page says so rather than estimating one, and where two Lenovo documents disagree we show the disagreement. Specifications and prices are subject to change by Lenovo without notice.

Compatibility & Fit

Why QHD at 27 inches is the specification to standardise on. At 2560 x 1440 the pixel density is high enough that text looks clean at 100% display scaling, so there are no scaling settings to configure or get wrong across a fleet, and no older applications rendering blurry. You get about 78% more pixels than Full HD. It is the resolution that makes a 27-inch monitor feel like an upgrade rather than just a bigger version of the same thing.

Read this before you assume it docks. This monitor has a USB-C port, but it is a downstream, data-only port rated at 15 W. It carries no video and will not usefully charge a laptop. Lenovo reserves single-cable docking for the D models in this range — the T24D-40, T24D-4v, T24D-4t, T27QD-40, T27QD-4v, T27UD-40, T32UD-40 and T34WD-40 — which have a USB-C upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, 100 W power delivery and Ethernet. They are all linked in the ordering table below. If one cable to the laptop is what you need, buy one of those instead; if the monitor will sit on a desktop PC, this model gives you the same panel for less.

Decoding the model names in this range, because the letters do real work and Lenovo does not publish a key. D means USB-C docking — a 100 W upstream port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, Ethernet and usually a DisplayPort output. v means video conferencing — a built-in 5-megapixel IR and RGB camera with Windows Hello and a microphone. t means touch. Q means QHD, UD means 4K UHD and WD means an ultrawide. So a T24-4v has the camera but no dock, while a T24D-4v has both. These are read off Lenovo's own product titles rather than from a naming document, because Lenovo publishes none.

Check your cables before you order. This is the only model in the -40 range that ships an HDMI cable — HDMI 2.0, plus a USB-B to USB-A cable for the hub. There is no DisplayPort cable and no USB-C cable in the box. If you plan to connect over DisplayPort, ask us to add a cable.

True 8-bit, which is worth noting. Lenovo specifies this panel as true 8-bit rather than 6-bit plus frame rate control, which is what the 23.8-inch models in this range use. In practice that means smoother gradients and less dithering in flat colour areas. It is not a substitute for a calibrated panel — Lenovo publishes no Delta E figure for this model — but it is a real difference from the cheaper models beside it.

No audio path and no Ethernet. No speakers, no headphone jack, no RJ45. The MS30 Monitor Soundbar is a separate purchase. If a wired network connection through the monitor matters, the docking models in this range provide it.

PSREF is Lenovo's own Product Specifications Reference and is the source for every figure on this page unless the table says otherwise. PSREF publishes its spec sheets per model rather than per part number, so this SKU does not appear inside the PDF itself; a per-part-number detail page also exists at psref.lenovo.com and will render in a normal browser if you need this exact configuration confirmed before ordering. Ask us and we will pull it for you.

Frequently Asked Questions — Lenovo ThinkVision T27Q-40

Can I dock my laptop with one USB-C cable?

No. The T27Q-40's USB-C is a downstream, data-only 15 W port with no DisplayPort Alt Mode. It has a USB-B upstream port and no Ethernet. The docking 27-inch QHD model is the T27QD-40, which adds a 100 W USB-C upstream port, gigabit Ethernet and a DisplayPort output. It is linked in the ordering table above.

Which cable comes in the box?

An HDMI 2.0 cable and a USB-B to USB-A cable. This is the only model in the -40 range that ships HDMI rather than DisplayPort; there is no DisplayPort or USB-C cable included. Ask us to add one if you need it.

Is QHD better than 4K at 27 inches?

For most business use, yes. QHD is sharp at 100% display scaling, so nothing needs configuring and older applications render correctly. A 27-inch 4K panel needs 125% or 150% scaling to be readable, which is fine on modern software and awkward on some line-of-business applications. If you specifically want 4K at 27 inches, the T27UD-40 is in the table above.

Does it have speakers or Ethernet?

Neither. No speakers, no headphone jack and no RJ45 port. The MS30 Monitor Soundbar is available separately, and the docking models in this range are the ones with Ethernet.

What warranty applies in Singapore?

Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
