The ThinkVision P24Q-40 brings the newer generation to the compact colour-work desk: 2560 x 1440 at 123 dpi, 1500:1 contrast where the previous P24q-30 published 1000:1, a 48–120 Hz refresh range, and a published factory calibration of average Delta E under 2 at sRGB with a printed report in the box.
It Looks Like a Dock and Is Not One — Read the Ports Carefully
This is the single most important thing on this page. The Q in P24Q-40 is resolution; the D in P24QD-40 is docking. This model has no USB-C upstream port, no DisplayPort Alt Mode, no Ethernet and no KVM. Its one USB-C is a downstream, data-only 15 W port. The P24QD-40 beside it in the ordering table is the docking version, and the two names differ by a single letter.
C-Class Energy Label — the Best in the P-Series
At 12 W typical with an ENERGY STAR power-on figure of 11 W and a TEC of 34 kWh, the P24Q-40 carries a C-class EU energy label, the best of any monitor in this P-series range and a full three classes better than the 49-inch model. For a floor of colour-work desks that is a real number.
A DisplayPort Output, and an HDMI Cable in the Box
There is a DisplayPort 1.4 output for chaining a second display, and unusually for this range, Lenovo supplies both a DisplayPort and an HDMI cable. What it does not supply is any USB cable at all — which the four-port hub needs.

Compatibility & Fit
One letter, two very different monitors. The P24Q-40 and the P24QD-40 share a panel size, a resolution and a calibration standard. The D model adds a 140 W USB-C docking port, 2.5-gigabit Ethernet and an eKVM switch; its maximum power draw is 210 W against 65 W here, which tells you how much is going out to a laptop. If your desk has a laptop, buy the D. If it has a desktop PC or workstation, this model gives you the same calibrated panel for less, and uses far less power doing it.
What actually separates the P-series from the T-series. Lenovo's own marketing puts the P-series under "Best-in-Class Performance for Leading Professionals" and the T-series under "Enhanced Productivity for Modern Taskers", but it never states in prose that colour accuracy is the dividing line. The evidence is in the specification sheets instead: most P-series models publish a factory calibration figure of Delta E under 2 and ship a printed calibration report in the box, and T-series models do not. That is the difference we are willing to stand behind, and it is why this page cites the per-model figure rather than a slogan.
What the calibration covers, precisely. Lenovo states average Delta E under 2 at sRGB — and publishes no DCI-P3 figure at all for this panel. So it is calibrated for sRGB work, which covers web, office, most marketing production and standard photography workflows. For DCI-P3 work — video, cinema-space grading — the P27h-30 (95% DCI-P3) or the P27QD-40 (98% DCI-P3, calibrated in both spaces) are the right models, and both are linked above.
The cable situation is unusual. Lenovo supplies both a DisplayPort 1.4 cable and an HDMI 2.0 cable with this monitor, which is generous — and no USB cable of any kind, which is not, because the four-port USB hub needs a USB-B cable to work. Ask us to add one to the order.
No audio path. No speakers and no 3.5 mm jack. Sound comes from the PC. The MS30 Monitor Soundbar clips to this chassis as a separate purchase.

Is this a docking monitor?
No — and the name makes that easy to get wrong. The P24Q-40 has no USB-C upstream port, no DisplayPort Alt Mode, no Ethernet and no KVM. Its USB-C is a downstream data-only 15 W port. The P24QD-40 — one letter different — is the docking model, with 140 W USB-C, 2.5-gigabit Ethernet and an eKVM switch.
What does the calibration cover?
Lenovo publishes average Delta E under 2 at sRGB. It publishes no DCI-P3 figure for this model, so this is an sRGB-space monitor. For DCI-P3 work, look at the P27h-30 or the P27QD-40, which publish 95% and 98% DCI-P3 respectively.
Why is there no USB cable in the box?
We do not know, and it is a fair question — the monitor has a USB-B upstream port and a three-port downstream hub that both need one. Lenovo supplies a DisplayPort cable and an HDMI cable instead. Tell us and we will include a USB-A to USB-B cable with your order.
What does "factory calibrated" actually mean here?
It means Lenovo calibrated this panel on the production line, measured the result and put a printed report in the box — so the monitor is accurate out of the carton without you buying a colorimeter. What it does not mean is hardware calibration: Lenovo publishes no hardware-calibration support for any ThinkVision P-series model, so you cannot write a new calibration into the monitor's own lookup table later. For most design, marketing and video-review work the factory calibration is what matters; for a print house that recalibrates monthly, it is worth a conversation before you order.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
