Why 140 W matters more than it sounds. USB Power Delivery 3.1 raised the ceiling from 100 W to 240 W, and 140 W is the tier that finally covers mobile workstations and high-specification 16-inch laptops — machines that ship with a 135 W adapter and that a 90 W or 100 W dock cannot keep charged under load. If your users carry that class of hardware, this monitor docks them properly where most do not.

Note the maximum draw: 210 W. That is the panel plus up to 140 W leaving the monitor for the laptop. It is not the monitor consuming 210 W of its own. Size the desk circuit against it anyway if several sit on one spur.

The eKVM, and what it needs. Connect a second machine to the DisplayPort or HDMI input and to the USB-B upstream port, plug your keyboard and mouse into the monitor, and the KVM switches peripherals with the input. The USB-B to USB-A cable is supplied in the box for exactly this — unlike several monitors in the T-series range, where it is not.

What actually separates the P-series from the T-series. Lenovo's own marketing puts the P-series under "Best-in-Class Performance for Leading Professionals" and the T-series under "Enhanced Productivity for Modern Taskers", but it never states in prose that colour accuracy is the dividing line. The evidence is in the specification sheets instead: most P-series models publish a factory calibration figure of Delta E under 2 and ship a printed calibration report in the box, and T-series models do not. That is the difference we are willing to stand behind, and it is why this page cites the per-model figure rather than a slogan.

What the calibration covers. Delta E under 2 at sRGB, with a printed report. Lenovo publishes no DCI-P3 figure for this panel, so this is an sRGB-space monitor — excellent for web, office, marketing and standard photography. For DCI-P3 work, the P27QD-40 is calibrated in both spaces and publishes 98% DCI-P3.

No audio path. No speakers and no 3.5 mm jack, which is unusual on a monitor this well equipped. Headsets connect to the laptop. The MS30 Monitor Soundbar is a separate purchase.

The USB-B to USB-A cable in the box is what the eKVM needs for a second machine — keep it. Keep the Gen 2 USB-C cable with the monitor too; a lower-specification replacement may not carry 140 W and HBR3 video together. No HDMI cable is supplied.

Will it charge my mobile workstation?

Very probably. At 140 W over USB Power Delivery 3.1 this monitor covers machines that ship with a 135 W adapter, which is where most docking monitors stop short. If your laptop's adapter is rated 170 W or above, keep using it and treat the USB-C connection as video, network and data. Tell us the model and we will check.

What is the difference between the P24Q-40 and the P24QD-40?

One letter and a great deal of hardware. The D model — this one — adds a 140 W USB-C docking port, 2.5-gigabit Ethernet and an eKVM switch. The P24Q-40 has none of those; its USB-C is a downstream data-only port. Same panel, same calibration, very different desk.

How does the KVM work?

Connect a second computer to the DisplayPort or HDMI input and to the USB-B upstream port, then plug your keyboard and mouse into the monitor. Switching the input switches the peripherals with it. The USB-B cable you need is supplied in the box.

Is 2.5-gigabit Ethernet useful if my network is gigabit?

Not today, and it costs you nothing. It matters over the life of the monitor: a desk refresh outlasts a network refresh, and a 2.5GbE port will not be the thing holding the desk back when the switches are upgraded.

What does "factory calibrated" actually mean here?

It means Lenovo calibrated this panel on the production line, measured the result and put a printed report in the box — so the monitor is accurate out of the carton without you buying a colorimeter. What it does not mean is hardware calibration: Lenovo publishes no hardware-calibration support for any ThinkVision P-series model, so you cannot write a new calibration into the monitor's own lookup table later. For most design, marketing and video-review work the factory calibration is what matters; for a print house that recalibrates monthly, it is worth a conversation before you order.

What warranty applies in Singapore?

Lenovo PSREF states a 3-year limited warranty as the base warranty for this model, and every unit SourceIT sells comes with local Singapore warranty support and a GST invoice.
