The HPE Networking Instant On 1930 24G Class4 PoE 4SFP/SFP+ 195W Switch (JL683B) is a smart-managed Gigabit switch from HPE's Instant On range, the small-business line designed to be set up and run without a dedicated IT team. It provides 24 x 10/100/1000 RJ-45 + 4 x 1/10G SFP+, with a switching capacity of 128 Gbps and throughput of 95.23 Mpps.

HPE describes the 1930 series as affordable, easy-to-deploy, smart-managed fixed-configuration Gigabit switches designed for today's bandwidth-heavy applications. It sits above the 1830 by adding Layer 3 IPv4 static routing, ACLs and, on the 24- and 48-port models, 10G SFP+ uplinks.

Manage It from the Instant On App, the Cloud Portal or a Local Web GUI

Instant On switches are set up and monitored from the HPE Networking Instant On mobile app or the cloud-hosted web portal, with no extra licence or subscription fee. If you prefer to keep management on-site, the switch can instead be run from its local web GUI.

The same app manages Instant On access points and Secure Gateways, so a small office can run its wired and wireless network from one place.

Gigabit Access with 10G SFP+ Uplinks

With 24 x 10/100/1000 RJ-45 + 4 x 1/10G SFP+, the 24G Class4 PoE 4SFP/SFP+ 195W connects desktops, printers and servers at Gigabit speed and uses the four SFP+ ports for 10G uplinks to a core switch, a NAS or a server.

All RJ-45 ports deliver Class 4 PoE from a 195 W budget, enough to power Wi-Fi access points, IP phones and cameras without separate adapters. PoE scheduling lets you switch power to devices on or off by day and time.

Layer 2+ Features with Static Routing

HPE lists VLANs, IPv4 static routing, STP, RSTP and MSTP, link aggregation, IEEE 802.1X access control with RADIUS, ACLs, automatic denial-of-service protection and Energy Efficient Ethernet with automatic port shutdown.
