Gigabit Copper to Single-Mode Fibre
The D-Link DMC-810SC converts 1000BASE-T copper to 1000BASE-LX single-mode fibre (and vice versa) to IEEE 802.3ab and 802.3z, using an SC connector at 1310 nm, with 2000 Mbps full-duplex throughput at full wire-speed.
Standalone or Chassis-Mounted
Run it as a standalone desktop converter with its external power adapter, or install it in the D-Link DMC-1000 16-slot chassis, which lists the DMC-810SC as a compatible module.
Plug-and-Play Link Extension
No software is needed. Auto MDI/MDIX on the copper port and two DIP switches for fibre mode and Link Loss Return make it simple to deploy between buildings or floors.

What do the DIP switches do?
Per D-Link's FAQ, switch 1 selects forced or auto-negotiation fibre mode (both ends must match) and switch 2 enables Link Loss Return; only one converter in a pair needs LLR enabled.
