D-Link DMC-700SC/E 1000BASE-T to 1000BASE-SX (SC) Multi-Mode Media Converter (DMC-700SC/E) - 5 Years Local Warranty
Gigabit Copper to Multi-Mode Fibre up to 550 m
The D-Link DMC-700SC converts 1000BASE-T copper to 1000BASE-SX fibre (and vice versa) to IEEE 802.3ab and 802.3z, using multi-mode fibre with an SC connector at 850 nm. D-Link rates it for up to 550 m on multi-mode fibre, at full wire-speed with 2000 Mbps full-duplex throughput.
Standalone or Chassis-Mounted
Use it as a standalone desktop converter with its external power adapter, or slot it into the D-Link DMC-1000 16-slot chassis, where it is hot-swappable.
Link Loss Handling via DIP Switches
Two DIP switches set the fibre mode (forced or auto-negotiation) and enable Link Loss Return (LLR); Link Pass Through (LLCF) is the default behaviour, so a lost fibre link is reflected on the copper side.

Fibre
Multi-mode fibre with SC connectors at 850 nm (1000BASE-SX). Pair it with another 1000BASE-SX device, such as a second DMC-700SC or a switch with a 1000BASE-SX port. For single-mode links, see the DMC-810SC.
Chassis
Listed by D-Link as a compatible module for the DMC-1000 16-slot chassis. The optional DMC-1002 module adds SNMP / web monitoring of chassis-installed converters.
Management
Plug-and-play; no software required. The converter itself is unmanaged.

What fibre does it need?
Multi-mode fibre with SC connectors (1000BASE-SX, 850 nm). D-Link rates it for up to 550 m; its user guide gives 550 m on 50/125 µm and 220 m on 62.5/125 µm fibre.
Do I need a pair?
The far end needs a 1000BASE-SX multi-mode device: a second DMC-700SC or a switch with a matching SX port. D-Link's FAQ notes both ends must use the same fibre mode setting, and only one converter in a pair needs LLR enabled.
Can it go in a chassis?
Yes. It works standalone or in the DMC-1000 16-slot chassis.
Is the DMC-700SC still current?
D-Link's UK site lists the DMC-700SC as End of Life (phased out 28/09/2023), while other D-Link regional pages still show it as live and it remains in D-Link Singapore's current commercial price list. Contact us to confirm availability before ordering.
