APC Smart-UPS RT 192V 5Ah Battery Pack 3U for 5 to 10kVA SRTG Models
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Smart-UPS RT 192V 5Ah Battery Pack 3U (SRTG192XLBP4) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The Battery Pack for the APC Smart-UPS RT 5, 6, 8 and 10 kVA On-Line UPS
The APC SRTG192XLBP4 is the external battery module for the four mid-range units in the Smart-UPS RT (SRTG) generation: Schneider's installation guide names the SRTG5KXLI, SRTG6KXLI, SRTG8KXLI and SRTG10KXLI, and nothing else. On their internal batteries those units give you minutes β Schneider's range brochure lists approximately 3 minutes at full load for the 5 kVA and 10 kVA units, 2 minutes for the 6 kVA and 4.5 minutes for the 8 kVA β which is a ride-through, not autonomy. Battery packs are how you get from riding out a grid dip to holding the room up while a generator comes on load or PowerChute shuts the servers down in order.
Thirty-Two 5 Ah Cells in Four Modules, 192 V (Β±96 V)
Schneider's global product name for this pack is literally "Smart-UPS RT 192V 32x5Ah BP": thirty-two 12 V 5 Ah sealed maintenance-free valve-regulated lead-acid cells, arranged in four battery modules on a Β±96 VDC bus β the same bus the SRTG 5β10 kVA UPS runs on. The replacement cartridge is the APCRBC174, the same cartridge Schneider lists for the SRTG 8 kVA and 10 kVA units, which simplifies your spares holding if you run those models. Note that it is a different cartridge from the APCRBC170 used in the SRTG 5 and 6 kVA UPS itself and from the APCRBC140 used across the older Smart-UPS SRT range.
Not the Same Pack as the SRTG192XLBP2 β and Maximum Four, Not Ten
Two SRTG battery packs carry "192V" in their names and they are not interchangeable. The SRTG192XLBP2 is the Β±192 V, 9 Ah, 4U, 116 kg pack for the 15 and 20 kVA units with the APCRBC172 cartridge; this SRTG192XLBP4 is the 192 V (Β±96 V), 5 Ah, 3U, 83.5 kg pack for the 5β10 kVA units with the APCRBC174 cartridge. Order by part number against the UPS you actually own. And design to a maximum of four packs per UPS, connected in parallel and daisy-chained pack to pack with the supplied cable β the ten-pack figure belongs to the smaller Smart-UPS SRT range and does not carry across.
3U per Pack, Rail Kit Sold Separately, and Serious Weight
Each pack occupies 3U in a 131 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 680 mm (D) chassis and weighs 83.5 kg with batteries installed (101.5 kg packaged). The rail kit is not included β Schneider's product page for this pack lists the SRTGRK1 kit for rack mounting, ordered separately. What is in the box is the 0.64 m battery cable and its connector holder, a 0.74 m ground cable, a pair of rack-mount brackets, two pairs of stabiliser brackets for tower use and all the mounting screws. A 10 kVA UPS with four packs is 17U and roughly 436 kg, so confirm the cabinet's static load rating, the floor loading and the delivery route with building management well before the hardware arrives. SourceIT supplies the SRTG192XLBP4 from Singapore with a GST invoice and local warranty support.

Compatibility & Runtime
Which UPS models does the SRTG192XLBP4 fit?
Schneider's installation guide SUO-IM-990-91417-EN names the compatible models explicitly, and the list is exactly four:
| SRTG5KXLI | APC Smart-UPS On-Line 5 kVA / 5 kW, rack / tower 4U β up to 4 packs |
| SRTG6KXLI | APC Smart-UPS On-Line 6 kVA / 6 kW, rack / tower 4U β up to 4 packs |
| SRTG8KXLI | APC Smart-UPS On-Line 8 kVA / 8 kW, rack / tower 5U β up to 4 packs |
| SRTG10KXLI | APC Smart-UPS On-Line 10 kVA / 10 kW, rack / tower 5U β up to 4 packs |
The SRTG192XLBP4 is not compatible with the SRTG15KXLI or SRTG20KXLI, which run on a Β±192 V bus and take the SRTG192XLBP2. Nor is it compatible with the older Smart-UPS SRT range: despite the β192Vβ in their names, the SRT192BP, SRT192RMBP, SRT192BP2 and SRT192RMBP2 are different packs with a different connector and a different replacement cartridge (APCRBC140 rather than APCRBC174). Order by part number.
Maximum four packs. Schneider's UPS manuals state that up to four external battery packs can be connected to the SRTG 5β10 kVA UPS in parallel. The ten-pack figure belongs to the smaller Smart-UPS SRT models and must not be carried across when sizing an SRTG installation. Packs connect to the UPS battery input and to one another with the supplied 0.64 m battery cable β the installation guide has you swap the connector holder on the cable to link one pack to the next.
Runtime. Runtime is not linear β halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider publishes the pack's cell count and capacity rather than a minutes-per-load table for each UPS and pack combination, so rather than quote a runtime we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a calculation against your measured load, your pack count and your generator start time. As reference points from Schneider's range brochure, the SRTG10KXLI alone runs approximately 3 minutes at full load and 10.5 minutes at half load, and the SRTG8KXLI approximately 4.5 minutes and 13 minutes.
Rack fit and weight. Each pack occupies 3U in a 131 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 680 mm (D) chassis and weighs 83.5 kg with batteries installed. The rail kit is not included β Schneider's product page lists the SRTGRK1 for this pack, the same kit used for the UPS itself; the SRTGRK2 is the kit for the SRTG192XLBP2 pack on the 15 and 20 kVA systems. A 5 kVA UPS with two packs is 10U and roughly 223 kg; a 10 kVA UPS with four packs is 17U and roughly 436 kg. Confirm the cabinet's static load rating, the floor loading and the delivery route with building management before ordering, and mount the packs at the bottom of the cabinet with the UPS directly above them.
Cables and hardware. The SRTG192XLBP4 includes its 0.64 m battery cable and connector holder, a 0.74 m ground cable, a pair of rack-mount brackets, two pairs of stabiliser brackets with six connectors, four M5 floating nuts, four M5 x 12 Phillips screws and four M4 x 6 flat-head screws. The one thing you must order separately is the rail kit.

Frequently Asked Questions β APC SRTG192XLBP4
Which UPS models does the SRTG192XLBP4 fit?
Four: the SRTG5KXLI, SRTG6KXLI, SRTG8KXLI and SRTG10KXLI. Schneider's installation guide names them explicitly and lists nothing else, and Schneider's own product description reads "192V SRTG Battery pack for 5kVA/6kVA/8kVA/10kVA SRTG On-Line UPS". It does not fit the SRTG 15 and 20 kVA units, which take the SRTG192XLBP2, and it does not fit the older Smart-UPS SRT range.
What is the difference between the SRTG192XLBP4 and the SRTG192XLBP2?
Everything except the "192V" in the name. The XLBP4 is thirty-two 5 Ah cells on a Β±96 V bus in a 3U, 83.5 kg chassis with the APCRBC174 cartridge, for the 5β10 kVA units. The XLBP2 is a 9 Ah pack on a Β±192 V bus in a 4U, 116 kg chassis with the APCRBC172 cartridge, for the 15 and 20 kVA units. The bus voltages differ, so the wrong pack cannot be used even if it were physically connected. Order against the UPS part number you own.
How many SRTG192XLBP4 packs can I connect?
A maximum of four, connected in parallel and daisy-chained pack to pack with the supplied battery cable. This is the figure Schneider's UPS manuals state for the SRTG 5β10 kVA units. The smaller Smart-UPS SRT models accept up to ten packs, and that figure is often carried across by mistake β do not design to it.
How much runtime will one pack add?
That depends entirely on the load, and runtime is not linear β halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider publishes the pack's cell count and capacity rather than a minutes-per-load table for each combination, so rather than quote a runtime we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a calculation against your measured load, your pack count and your generator start time. As a reference, the SRTG10KXLI alone runs approximately 3 minutes at full load per Schneider's range brochure.
Which replacement cartridge does the pack take?
The APCRBC174 β the same cartridge Schneider lists for the SRTG 8 kVA and 10 kVA UPS, which simplifies spares holding if you run those units. The batteries are sealed maintenance-free VRLA, 32 x 12 V 5 Ah cells in four modules, all installed from the factory. Plan on replacement every three to five years; heat is the main determinant, so a cabinet held near 25 Β°C will get materially more life than one at 35 Β°C.
How much rack space does it need, and is the rail kit included?
3U per pack, in a 131 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 680 mm (D) chassis, and the rail kit is not included. Schneider's product page for this pack lists the SRTGRK1 β the same kit as the UPS β ordered separately. The pack is rack / tower convertible and the stabiliser brackets for tower use are in the box. Each pack weighs 83.5 kg with batteries installed, so a 10 kVA UPS with four packs is 17U and roughly 436 kg. Check the cabinet's static load rating and the floor loading with building management before ordering.
What is in the box?
Front bezel, four M5 floating nuts, four M4 x 6 flat-head screws, four M5 x 12 Phillips screws, the battery connector holder, a 0.74 m ground cable, a 0.64 m battery cable, two pairs of stabiliser brackets with six connectors, one pair of rack-mount brackets, the installation manual and a packing list. The battery cable and mounting hardware are included; the rails are not.
Is the SRTG192XLBP4 covered by warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every APC SRTG192XLBP4 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the SRTG192XLBP4 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty on the batteries.
