APC Smart-UPS RT 192V 9Ah Battery Pack 2 Rows
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Smart-UPS RT 192V 9Ah Battery Pack 2 Rows (SRTG192XLBP2) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The Battery Pack for the APC Smart-UPS RT 15 kVA and 20 kVA On-Line UPS
The APC SRTG192XLBP2 is the external battery module for the two largest units in the Smart-UPS range: Schneider's installation guide names it explicitly for the SRTG15KXLI and SRTG20KXLI, and for nothing else. At those capacities the UPS on its own gives you minutes — 5 minutes 30 seconds at full load on the 15 kVA, 3 minutes 30 seconds on the 20 kVA — which is a ride-through, not autonomy. Battery packs are how you get from riding out a PUB grid dip to holding the room up while a generator comes on load.
Four Battery Slots, 9 Ah, ±192 VDC
Each SRTG192XLBP2 arrives with all four battery slots filled, rated 9 Ah on a ±192 VDC bus, using sealed maintenance-free valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. The replacement cartridge is the APCRBC172, quantity 2 — the same cartridge used inside the SRTG UPS itself, which simplifies your spares holding. Note that this is a different cartridge from the APCRBC140 used across the smaller SRT 5–10 kVA range; do not order by analogy.
Maximum Four Packs — Not Ten
This is the specification most often got wrong. The smaller Smart-UPS SRT models accept up to ten external battery packs; the SRTG range accepts a maximum of four, excluding the one supplied with the UPS. On the 20 kVA unit Schneider publishes the resulting capacity ladder as 6,912, 10,617, 13,824 and 17,280 VAh as packs are added; on the 15 kVA unit maximum system capacity is 17,606 VAh. Design to four, not ten, and size the runtime against your measured load rather than the headline figure.
4U per Pack, Rail Kit Sold Separately, and Serious Weight
Each pack occupies 4U in a 175 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 700 mm (D) chassis and weighs 116 kg with batteries installed (133 kg packaged). The rail kit is not included — SRTGRK2 is the kit for the battery pack and is ordered separately. What is in the box is the battery cable, the ground wire, the temperature sensor wire, a pair of rack-mount brackets, two pairs of stabiliser brackets and all the mounting screws. A 20 kVA UPS with four packs is 23U and roughly 606 kg, so confirm the cabinet's static load rating, the floor loading and the delivery route with building management well before the hardware arrives. SourceIT supplies the SRTG192XLBP2 from Singapore with a GST invoice and local warranty support.

Compatibility & Runtime
Which UPS models does the SRTG192XLBP2 fit?
Schneider's installation guide SUO-IM-990-6210-EN names the compatible models explicitly, and the list is short:
| SRTG15KXLI | APC Smart-UPS On-Line 15 kVA / 15 kW, rack / tower 7U — maximum system capacity 17,606 VAh with packs added |
| SRTG20KXLI | APC Smart-UPS On-Line 20 kVA / 20 kW, rack / tower 7U — capacity ladder 6,912 / 10,617 / 13,824 / 17,280 VAh as packs are added |
The SRTG192XLBP2 is not compatible with the smaller Smart-UPS SRT range. Despite the “192V” in the name it is a different pack from the SRT192BP, SRT192RMBP, SRT192BP2 and SRT192RMBP2, with a different replacement cartridge (APCRBC172 rather than APCRBC140) and a different maximum pack count. Order by part number.
Maximum four packs — this is the specification most often got wrong. The smaller Smart-UPS SRT models accept up to ten external battery packs. The SRTG range accepts a maximum of four, excluding the one supplied with the UPS. Do not carry the SRT figure across when sizing an SRTG installation.
Runtime. Runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider publishes the VAh capacity ladder above rather than a minutes-per-load table for the pack itself, so rather than quote a runtime figure we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a calculation against your measured load, your pack count and your generator start time.
Rack fit and weight. Each pack occupies 4U in a 175 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 700 mm (D) chassis and weighs 116 kg with batteries installed. The rail kit is not included — order SRTGRK2 for the battery pack (and SRTGRK1 for the UPS power module) separately. A 20 kVA UPS with four packs is 23U and roughly 606 kg: confirm the cabinet's static load rating, the floor loading and the delivery route with building management well before the hardware arrives.
Cables and hardware. Unlike some APC packs, the SRTG192XLBP2 does include its 0.64 m battery cable, a 0.64 m ground wire and a 0.64 m battery pack temperature sensor wire, plus a pair of rack-mount brackets, two pairs of stabiliser brackets and all the mounting screws. The one thing you must order separately is the rail kit.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC SRTG192XLBP2
Which UPS models does the SRTG192XLBP2 fit?
Only two: the SRTG15KXLI and the SRTG20KXLI. Schneider's installation guide names them explicitly and lists nothing else. This pack is not compatible with the smaller Smart-UPS SRT range, despite the similar-looking 192 V designation.
How many SRTG192XLBP2 packs can I connect?
A maximum of four, excluding the one supplied with the UPS. This is the specification most often got wrong, because the smaller Smart-UPS SRT models accept up to ten packs and people carry that figure across. On the 20 kVA unit Schneider's published capacity ladder is 6,912 / 10,617 / 13,824 / 17,280 VAh as packs are added; on the 15 kVA unit maximum system capacity is 17,606 VAh.
Can I use an SRT192BP or SRT192RMBP2 on an SRTG UPS instead?
No. Despite the “192V” in all their names, the SRT and SRTG packs are different products with different connectors and different replacement cartridges — APCRBC172 for the SRTG pack against APCRBC140 for the SRT ones. Schneider fits keyed mating connectors precisely so the wrong pack cannot be connected. Order by part number.
How much runtime will one pack add?
That depends entirely on the load, and runtime is not linear — halving the load more than doubles the time on battery. Schneider publishes VAh capacity figures for the pack rather than a minutes-per-load table, so rather than quote a runtime we cannot source, ask SourceIT for a calculation against your measured load, your pack count and your generator start time. As a reference point, the SRTG20KXLI alone runs 3 minutes 30 seconds at full load and 9 minutes 30 seconds at half load.
Which replacement cartridge does the pack take?
The APCRBC172, quantity 2 — the same cartridge used inside the SRTG UPS itself, which simplifies spares holding. The batteries are sealed maintenance-free VRLA at 9 Ah, with all four battery slots filled from the factory. Plan on replacement every three to five years; heat is the main determinant.
How much rack space does it need, and is the rail kit included?
4U per pack, in a 175 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 700 mm (D) chassis, and the rail kit is not included — SRTGRK2 is the kit for the battery pack and SRTGRK1 for the UPS power module, both ordered separately. Each pack weighs 116 kg with batteries installed, so a 20 kVA UPS with four packs is 23U and roughly 606 kg. Check the cabinet's static load rating and the floor loading with building management before ordering.
What is in the box?
Front bezel, four M5 floating nuts, eight M4 x 8 screws, four M5 x 12 Phillips screws, a 0.64 m battery cable, eight stabiliser bracket connectors, one pair of rack-mount brackets, a 0.64 m ground wire, a 0.64 m battery pack temperature sensor wire, the installation manual, a packing list, and two pairs of stabiliser brackets. The battery cable and mounting hardware are included; the rails are not.
Is the SRTG192XLBP2 covered by warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every APC SRTG192XLBP2 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the SRTG192XLBP2 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
