APC Smart-UPS RT 19in Rail Kit for the 192V 9Ah External Battery Pack
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Smart-UPS RT 19" Rail Kit for XLBP (SRTGRK2) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The Rail Kit That Puts the SRTG192XLBP2 Battery Pack on Rails
The APC SRTGRK2 is the 19-inch rack rail kit for the Smart-UPS RT external battery pack. Schneider's installation guide for it is titled "Smart-UPS RT SRTGRK2 Tower to Rack-Mount Conversion" and names one product: the SRTG192XLBP2, the ±192 V, 9 Ah, 4U battery pack for the SRTG15KXLI and SRTG20KXLI. Schneider's product page for the kit shows the same pack under its compatibility section. The SRTG battery packs ship rack / tower convertible with rack-mount brackets and stabiliser feet in the carton, but with no rails: the brackets locate the pack on the front pillars, and the rails are what carry its weight.
Why the Rails Are Not Optional at 116 kg
An SRTG192XLBP2 weighs 116 kg with its four battery modules installed — Schneider's rail kit guide puts each module at 24.5 kg — and a 20 kVA UPS with four packs is 23U and roughly 606 kg. At those figures the front rack-mount brackets are a locating feature, not a load path. The rails support the chassis along its length, keep the pack level so the battery modules slide in and out for replacement, and let you rack the pack empty and then load the modules one at a time, which is how Schneider's guide has you do it. The kit is ordered separately because the same pack is also sold for tower use, where the stabiliser brackets do the job instead.
SRTGRK1 for the UPS, SRTGRK2 for the Pack
The SRTG range uses two rail kits, and they are not interchangeable. The SRTGRK1 is the kit for the UPS power module across the 5, 6, 8, 10, 15 and 20 kVA units, and Schneider's product page for the smaller SRTG192XLBP4 pack (the 3U pack for the 5–10 kVA units) also lists the SRTGRK1 for that pack. The SRTGRK2 is the kit for the SRTG192XLBP2. A 15 or 20 kVA installation therefore needs one SRTGRK1 for the UPS plus one SRTGRK2 for every battery pack, and it is worth ordering them together so nothing is waiting on a rail kit on installation day.
What Arrives, and Local Singapore Supply
Schneider's installation guide lists one rail kit with the hardware for installing the rails in a rack, eighteen M5 x 12 Phillips flat-head screws to secure the rails to the pillars, the installation manual and a packing list. Net weight of the kit is about 3.1 kg. Schneider does not publish an adjustable depth range for the rails on its product page — the SRTG192XLBP2 chassis is 700 mm deep, so plan on a 1,000 mm or deeper cabinet and confirm with SourceIT if your cabinet is shallower. SourceIT supplies the SRTGRK2 from Singapore with a GST invoice and local warranty support, and can bundle it with the pack and the UPS so the whole system arrives at once.

Compatibility & Rack Fit
Which products does the SRTGRK2 fit?
| SRTG192XLBP2 | APC Smart-UPS RT Battery Pack 192V, rackmount 4U, 116 kg — the pack Schneider's installation guide names for this kit |
Used on systems built around the SRTG15KXLI and SRTG20KXLI, which accept up to four SRTG192XLBP2 packs each. Order one SRTGRK2 per pack.
What it does not fit
| SRTG UPS power modules | The 5, 6, 8, 10, 15 and 20 kVA SRTG units take the SRTGRK1 |
| SRTG192XLBP4 | The 3U pack for the SRTG 5–10 kVA units — Schneider's product page lists the SRTGRK1 for it |
| Smart-UPS SRT packs | The SRT192RMBP2, SRT192RMBP and other SRT rackmount packs are a different generation with their own rail kits — the SURTRK2 is for the older Smart-UPS RT 3–10 kVA, not for SRTG |
Rack fit. The SRTG192XLBP2 is 175 mm (H) x 440 mm (W) x 700 mm (D), 4U, and the rails mount to the front and rear pillars of a standard 19-inch four-post cabinet. Schneider does not publish the rail's adjustable depth range, so for anything shallower than a 1,000 mm cabinet ask SourceIT to confirm before ordering. Leave clearance behind the pack for the battery cable, the ground wire and the temperature sensor wire that run to the UPS.
Installation sequence. Schneider's guide has you fit the rails to the pillars with the M5 x 12 screws, slide the empty pack chassis onto the rails, secure the front brackets, and then install the four battery modules one at a time from the front. Rack the packs at the bottom of the cabinet with the UPS directly above them, and confirm the cabinet's static load rating and the floor loading with building management first — a 20 kVA system with four packs is roughly 606 kg.
Ordering together. A 15 or 20 kVA system on rails needs one SRTGRK1 for the UPS and one SRTGRK2 per battery pack. Neither kit is in the UPS or pack carton, and the packs cannot be safely racked on their front brackets alone, so add both kits to the order at the outset.

Frequently Asked Questions — APC SRTGRK2
Which battery pack does the SRTGRK2 fit?
The SRTG192XLBP2, the ±192 V, 9 Ah, 4U external battery pack for the SRTG 15 and 20 kVA units. That is the one product Schneider's installation guide names, and the one shown under compatibility on Schneider's product page for the kit.
Does the SRTGRK2 fit the SRTG192XLBP4 pack for the 5–10 kVA units?
Schneider's product page for the SRTG192XLBP4 lists the SRTGRK1 as that pack's rail kit, not the SRTGRK2. The XLBP4 is a 3U, 680 mm deep chassis and the XLBP2 is a 4U, 700 mm deep chassis, so the kits are specified separately. Order the SRTGRK1 for an XLBP4 and the SRTGRK2 for an XLBP2.
Can I use the SRTGRK2 to rack the UPS itself?
No. The SRTG UPS power module — 5 through 20 kVA — takes the SRTGRK1. A rack-mounted 15 or 20 kVA system needs one SRTGRK1 for the UPS and one SRTGRK2 for each battery pack.
Is a rail kit really necessary, given the pack comes with rack-mount brackets?
Yes. The brackets in the pack carton locate the chassis on the front pillars; they are not designed to carry 116 kg on their own, and Schneider's guide has you rack the empty chassis on the rails and then load the four 24.5 kg battery modules from the front. Without rails you cannot do that safely, and a battery replacement later means unracking the whole pack.
What depth of cabinet do I need?
The SRTG192XLBP2 chassis is 700 mm deep, and you need clearance behind it for the battery cable, ground wire and temperature sensor wire that run to the UPS, so a 1,000 mm or deeper cabinet is the practical minimum. Schneider does not publish the rail's adjustable depth range on the product page — if your cabinet is shallower than 1,000 mm, ask SourceIT to confirm before ordering.
What is in the box?
One rail kit with the hardware for installing the rails in a rack, eighteen M5 x 12 Phillips flat-head screws to secure the rails to the pillars, the installation manual and a packing list. The kit weighs about 3.1 kg. The battery pack, its cables and its front brackets come in the pack's own carton.
How many SRTGRK2 kits do I need for a 20 kVA system with four packs?
Four — one per SRTG192XLBP2 — plus one SRTGRK1 for the SRTG20KXLI itself. That system is 23U and roughly 606 kg, so confirm the cabinet's static load rating and the floor loading with building management, and mount the packs at the bottom with the UPS above them.
Is the SRTGRK2 covered by warranty in Singapore?
Yes. Every APC SRTGRK2 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice. Schneider does not print a manufacturer warranty term on the product page for this accessory; ask us and we will confirm the current term in writing with your quotation.
