APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #25
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #25 (RBC25) - 2 Years Local Warranty
RBC25 Datasheet: a Four-Block Cartridge on Its Own Tray
The RBC25 is a genuine APC replacement battery cartridge, and the first thing worth knowing about it is that it is not part of the 2U Smart-UPS group. Schneider gives it its own instruction sheet rather than covering it in the guide that handles the RBC22, RBC23 and RBC24, and its tray is a different shape entirely.
Where those cartridges use an 83 x 216 x 343 mm carrier, the RBC25 is 102 x 264 x 152 mm — wider and shorter, with four blocks sitting side by side rather than in a deep tray. It weighs 10.36 kg net.
What We Can and Cannot Tell You About This Part
We would rather be straight with you than pad this page out. The RBC25 is the thinnest-documented cartridge in this batch, and here is exactly where the line falls.
Confirmed by Schneider: the dimensions, the 10.36 kg net and 11.82 kg shipping weights, the packaging size, the barcode, the carbon footprint, the Green Premium status and the two-year warranty. Those are published and we reproduce them below.
Not confirmed: the assembled cartridge voltage, the per-block capacity, and the host UPS models. Schneider's instruction sheet for this part exists but its contents are not reachable through any source we consider safe, and no Schneider document we could obtain names the UPS models this cartridge serves. Rather than fill those gaps with a distributor's guess, we have left them open and we will do the work of confirming with the distributor when you tell us your model number.
Four Blocks, Side by Side
The geometry is unambiguous even where the electrical rating is not. The 264 mm width is four block widths across, the 152 mm depth matches a standard 12 V block's 151 mm length, and the 102 mm height matches a block's height. Ten and a third kilograms across four blocks is about 2.6 kg each. So this is a four-block cartridge, laid out flat.
Singapore is hard on lead-acid batteries. Ambient temperature sits near the top of the useful band all year, and every few degrees of sustained heat shortens a sealed lead-acid battery's service life measurably. A comms cabinet or riser room that runs warm will age a cartridge faster than an air-conditioned server room will. Plan replacement on the calendar instead of waiting for the UPS to fail its self-test, and keep the unit out of direct sun and clear of the warm-air discharge from whatever it is protecting.
Genuine APC Supply, GST-Invoiced, from Singapore Stock
SourceIT supplies the RBC25 as genuine APC by Schneider Electric stock, sold in Singapore with a GST invoice and local warranty support. We hold this part on the shelf instead of ordering it in, so a failed UPS does not have to wait on a shipment. If you are not certain which cartridge your unit takes, send us the model number printed on the UPS rear panel and we will confirm it against Schneider's documentation before you buy.
Schneider Electric does not publish a UL listing or a CE marking for this cartridge, and we do not claim either. What Schneider does publish is a REACh declaration and a RoHS position, and those are reproduced in the specification table exactly as written.

The blank voltage row, in short. Schneider leaves the battery-voltage field empty on this part, as it does on the RBC23 and RBC24. The tray geometry and the 10.36 kg net weight establish four blocks, but four blocks can be wired as 48 V in series or as 24 V in two parallel pairs, and no Schneider document distinguishes them. Match the cartridge by part number against your UPS, never by comparing voltage or physical size. The reasoning is set out in full further up the page.
On the capacity. Schneider's marketing metadata says 12 V 9 Ah per block. The published mass points the other way: 10.36 kg across four blocks is about 2.6 kg each, which is a 7 Ah block rather than a 9 Ah one, and a third-party rebuild vendor describes the part as four 12 V 7 Ah blocks. Two credible readings disagree, so we publish neither as fact. Ask us and we will put it to the distributor.
On the environmental figures. Schneider's data sheet for this part omits operating temperature, storage temperature, humidity and altitude entirely. We have not carried the figures across from its siblings, because a shared tray family is not a shared test report. Schneider publishes no charge time for a replacement cartridge. Recharge time is a property of the UPS that charges it, not of the battery tray, so look it up on your UPS model, not here.
Compatibility & Runtime
What we know, and what we do not
The clearest fact about the RBC25's compatibility is a negative one, and it is useful. Schneider gives this cartridge its own instruction sheet, separate from the guide that covers the RBC22, RBC23, RBC24 and RBC24J. So the RBC25 is not a 2U Smart-UPS rack part. If your UPS is one of the 2U 700 / 1000 / 1400 VA units, this is not your cartridge.
Beyond that, no Schneider document we could obtain names the host models. Multiple independent resellers point at the SU1400RMXL3U and SU1400RMXLB3U, the Smart-UPS XL 1400 VA 3U rack units, which are 120 V products. Their 230 V sibling, the SU1400RMXLI3U, is catalogued by Schneider — discontinued in June 2022, with the SMX1500RMI2U named as its recommended successor — and would be the Singapore-relevant host if the pairing holds.
We present all of that as unconfirmed, because that is what it is. Send us the model number from your UPS and we will confirm the cartridge with the distributor before you order. That is a better use of a phone call than a returned 10 kg battery.
Do not identify this cartridge by shape
The RBC25's 102 x 264 x 152 mm tray is genuinely different from the 83 x 216 x 343 mm carrier used across the 2U family, so in this one case the shape does distinguish it. What the shape will not tell you is the electrical rating. Order by part number and check the label on the cartridge you are removing.
Changing the cartridge
Schneider's hot-swap statement applies to the RBC22 / RBC23 / RBC24 guide and to Smart-UPS models with user-replaceable batteries. The RBC25 has its own instruction sheet whose contents we could not obtain, so we make no hot-swap claim for it. The guide shipped in the box is the authority for your unit. Read it first.
Runtime
A fresh cartridge restores the runtime the UPS was rated for at your load; it does not extend it, and runtime falls steeply as load rises.
Sealed lead-acid cartridges must not go into general waste in Singapore. Bring the exhausted cartridge back to us with the replacement and we can arrange collection through a licensed recycler, or dispose of it through your own NEA-licensed collector.

We deliberately do not publish direct PDF links for this part. Schneider's file-download host redirects across domains and has repeatedly returned a different model's document than the one requested, so a direct link is not safe to rely on. Every link above is a Schneider Electric landing page that we have opened and checked. If you would like the PDF itself, email sales@sourceit.com.sg with your UPS model and we will send the current revision together with a GST-invoiced quotation.
Frequently Asked Questions — APC RBC25
What voltage and capacity is the RBC25?
Schneider does not publish either in a form we can rely on, and we will not invent them. The tray holds four 12 V blocks, established from its geometry and its 10.36 kg weight. On capacity, Schneider's metadata says 9 Ah per block while the mass points at 7 Ah, and we publish neither as fact. Ask us and we will put both questions to the distributor.
Does it fit a 2U rackmount Smart-UPS?
No. Schneider gives the RBC25 its own instruction sheet rather than covering it in the guide that handles the RBC22, RBC23, RBC24 and RBC24J, and its tray is a different shape. If your UPS is one of the 2U 700, 1000 or 1400 VA units, look at the RBC22, RBC23 or RBC24 instead.
What does it fit, then?
No Schneider document we could obtain names the host models, so we will not print a list as though it were confirmed. Independent resellers point at the Smart-UPS XL 1400 VA 3U units, the SU1400RMXL3U and SU1400RMXLB3U, which are 120 V. Their 230 V sibling the SU1400RMXLI3U is catalogued by Schneider and would be the Singapore-relevant host if that pairing holds. Send us your model number and we will confirm it properly.
Why does the listing not give an operating temperature?
Because Schneider's data sheet for this part omits operating temperature, storage temperature, humidity and altitude entirely. We could have copied the figures from a sibling cartridge, but a shared tray family is not a shared test report, so we left them blank and told you why.
Can I change it with the UPS running?
We make no hot-swap claim for this cartridge. Schneider's hot-swap statement belongs to a different installation guide covering different parts; the RBC25 has its own instruction sheet whose contents we could not obtain. The guide in the box is the authority for your unit, so read it before you start.
Is this really a four-block cartridge?
Yes, and the geometry is the clearest evidence on the whole page. The 264 mm width is four block widths across, the 152 mm depth matches a 12 V block's 151 mm length, and 10.36 kg across four blocks is about 2.6 kg each. That part is not in doubt; only the wiring arrangement and the block capacity are.
Does it come with a local Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APC RBC25 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the RBC25 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
