APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #165 (APCRBC165) - 2 Years Local Warranty
APCRBC165 Datasheet: the Replacement Cartridge for the Back-UPS Pro BR1300MI
The APCRBC165 is the genuine APC replacement battery cartridge for the BR1300MI, the 1300 VA / 780 W Back-UPS Pro tower sold for 230 V mains. Schneider's own European replacement-battery FAQ names it against that model and lists it as user-replaceable, and Schneider's compatibility widget shows exactly one compatible UPS — so this is an unusually clean fit for a range where compatibility is often ambiguous.
It is a two-block, 24 V tray weighing 5.2 kg, in the same physical carrier Schneider uses for the APCRBC124. If you run a BR1300MI in a home office, a shophouse back room or a small comms cabinet, this is the part that brings it back to rated runtime.
A 24 V Cartridge, Not a 12 V One
Schneider's data sheet for this part prints "12 V DC" in the voltage field and its marketing metadata says "12V, 6.5AH". Both describe one block inside the tray. The assembled cartridge is 24 V nominal, two 12 V blocks in series.
The evidence is the tray itself. Schneider publishes the APCRBC165 and the APCRBC124 with an identical case — 76 x 152 x 203 mm — and an identical carton, and the APCRBC124's official product name states 24 V outright. The two parts differ by 0.4 kg, exactly what a 6.5 Ah pair versus a 9 Ah pair looks like. They also appear in the same Schneider installation guide as one mechanical family. A 5.2 kg tray cannot be a single 12 V 6.5 Ah block, which weighs about 2.2 kg.
One honest caveat: the 6.5 Ah per-block figure comes from Schneider's marketing metadata and the capacity field on the data sheet is blank. The 24 V architecture is well supported; the exact amp-hour figure is the weaker half of the record.
Built for Singapore Mains, Storm Season and Warm Cabinets
A Back-UPS Pro earns its keep during Singapore's storm months, when PUB-side voltage dips and short interruptions arrive without warning. The BR1300MI's automatic voltage regulation corrects sags without touching the battery at all, which is what keeps the cartridge alive for years rather than months. But when the supply actually drops, the battery is all there is, and a cartridge past its service life will give you a fraction of the runtime the LCD promises.
Singapore is hard on lead-acid batteries. Ambient temperature sits near the top of the useful band all year, and every few degrees of sustained heat shortens a sealed lead-acid battery's service life measurably. A comms cabinet or riser room that runs warm will age a cartridge faster than an air-conditioned server room will. Plan replacement on the calendar instead of waiting for the UPS to fail its self-test, and keep the unit out of direct sun and clear of the warm-air discharge from whatever it is protecting.
Genuine APC Supply, GST-Invoiced, from Singapore Stock
SourceIT supplies the APCRBC165 as genuine APC by Schneider Electric stock, sold in Singapore with a GST invoice and local warranty support. We hold this part on the shelf instead of ordering it in, so a failed UPS does not have to wait on a shipment. If you are not certain which cartridge your unit takes, send us the model number printed on the UPS rear panel and we will confirm it against Schneider's documentation before you buy.
Schneider Electric does not publish a UL listing or a CE marking for this cartridge, and we do not claim either. What Schneider does publish is a REACh declaration and a RoHS position, and those are reproduced in the specification table exactly as written.

On the derived voltage. Schneider leaves no explicit cartridge-level voltage on this part, so the 24 V above is derived from the tray it shares with the officially 24 V APCRBC124, from the two-block construction, and from the 5.2 kg mass. We publish it because a buyer comparing this cartridge against a genuinely single-block 12 V part would otherwise draw the wrong conclusion, and we label it so you know exactly what kind of figure it is.
Schneider publishes no charge time for a replacement cartridge. Recharge time is a property of the UPS that charges it, not of the battery tray, so look it up on your UPS model, not here.
Compatibility & Runtime
What the APCRBC165 fits
One host, confirmed by Schneider's own documentation:
- BR1300MI — APC Back-UPS Pro, 1300 VA / 780 W, tower, 230 V, 8 x IEC C13 outlets, AVR, LCD, user-replaceable battery. Named against the APCRBC165 by Schneider FAQ000276881, the European and 230 V replacement-battery reference. Stocked here.
Schneider's compatibility widget for this cartridge reports exactly one compatible UPS, which agrees. The North American equivalent FAQ, FAQ000276876, does not list the APCRBC165 at all — consistent with this being a 230 V part. That is good news for a Singapore buyer: the cartridge was made for our mains, not adapted to it.
Do not confuse it with the APCRBC124
The APCRBC165 and APCRBC124 share an identical tray and an identical carton, and differ by 0.4 kg. Physical measurement cannot tell them apart. The APCRBC124 is the 9 Ah part for Smart-UPS line-interactive units; this is the 6.5 Ah part for the BR1300MI. Order by part number, check the label on the cartridge you are removing, and do not substitute one for the other on the basis that it fits the slot.
Outlets, load and runtime
The BR1300MI provides eight IEC C13 outlets, and only some of them are battery-backed — the rest are surge-only. A common cause of disappointing runtime is a printer, a monitor or a desk lamp sitting on a battery outlet where it should be on a surge outlet. Before you conclude the cartridge is tired, check what is plugged in where.
A fresh cartridge restores the runtime the UPS was rated for at a given load; it cannot exceed it, and runtime falls steeply as load rises. The BR1300MI has no external battery pack option, so if you need materially longer runtime the answer is a larger UPS rather than a bigger cartridge.
The cartridge arrives assembled with its connectors already fitted. Schneider ships an installation guide in the box and that guide, not this page, is the authority on how the swap is done on your particular Back-UPS Pro and whether it can be done with the unit running. Read it before you start, and keep the old cartridge intact for recycling.
Sealed lead-acid cartridges must not go into general waste in Singapore. Bring the exhausted cartridge back to us with the replacement and we can arrange collection through a licensed recycler, or dispose of it through your own NEA-licensed collector.

Frequently Asked Questions — APCRBC165
Which UPS does the APCRBC165 fit?
The APC Back-UPS Pro BR1300MI, the 1300 VA / 780 W 230 V tower. Schneider's own European replacement-battery FAQ names it against that model and its compatibility widget shows exactly one compatible UPS. It is a 230 V part; the North American battery FAQ does not list it at all.
Is it 12 V or 24 V?
24 V. Schneider's data sheet prints 12 V because that is one block inside the tray. The cartridge holds two 12 V blocks in series, which is why it weighs 5.2 kg rather than the 2.2 kg a single 12 V 6.5 Ah block weighs, and why it shares its case with the officially 24 V APCRBC124.
How is this different from the APCRBC124?
They share an identical tray, an identical carton and differ by 0.4 kg, so you cannot tell them apart by looking. The APCRBC124 is a 9 Ah cartridge for Smart-UPS line-interactive units; this is the 6.5 Ah cartridge for the BR1300MI. Order by part number and check the label on the cartridge you take out.
Can I replace it myself?
Schneider lists the BR1300MI's battery as user-replaceable, so yes in principle. The cartridge ships assembled with connectors fitted and the installation guide in the box is the authority on the procedure. Take a photograph of the connector orientation before you disconnect anything, and be aware that while the battery is out the UPS cannot support the load through a power event.
My runtime is still short after fitting a new cartridge. What now?
Check what is plugged into which outlet first. The BR1300MI has eight C13 outlets and only some are battery-backed; the rest are surge-only. A monitor or printer on a battery outlet will eat runtime that should be going to the equipment you care about. After that, check the actual load against the 780 W rating — runtime falls steeply as load rises.
How long will the cartridge last in Singapore?
Schneider publishes no expected service life for this part, so we will not quote one. What we can say is that sustained heat is the main enemy of sealed lead-acid, and Singapore supplies plenty of it. A unit in an air-conditioned office will outlast one in a warm riser cupboard by a wide margin. Test the UPS on its own self-test rather than assuming.
Does it come with a local Singapore warranty?
Yes. Every APCRBC165 sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the APCRBC165 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
