TP-Link TL-PA9020P KIT AV2000 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AV2000 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit (TL-PA9020P KIT) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The TL-PA9020P KIT is TP-Link's fastest powerline pair, carrying network traffic over the electrical wiring already in your flat or office. Two adapters ship in the box, each with two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a 13 A passthrough socket, so a back room or a riser cupboard gets a wired link without new cabling and without giving up the wall outlet.
Up to 2000 Mbps Over the Wiring You Already Have
TP-Link publishes a transmission speed of up to 2000 Mbps on the powerline side and 10/100/1000 Mbps on the Ethernet side, built on the HomePlug AV2 standard with IEEE 1901 support. That headline figure is the physical channel rate defined by HomePlug AV2, not a guaranteed throughput — TP-Link's own footnote states actual transfer rates vary with distance, traffic, electrical noise, building construction and the quality of the electrical installation. In a typical Singapore flat or shophouse on one consumer unit, it is the practical route to a wired link where running Cat 6 is not an option.
Two Gigabit Ports on Each Adapter
Each TL-PA9020P carries two Gigabit Ethernet ports plus the power socket, so one adapter can serve a desktop and a console, a smart TV and a set-top box, or an access point and a NAS, without a separate switch. The Ethernet rate row is published as 10/100/1000 Mbps, and the kit also supports ToS-based QoS with up to four traffic levels and eight VLAN priority levels — useful where voice or video should not be starved by a large file transfer on the same pair.
A 13 A Passthrough Socket So You Keep the Outlet
The integrated socket is rated by TP-Link at 13 A, so the wall point the adapter occupies stays usable for an appliance, a desk power strip or a charger. This is the specific figure TP-Link publishes for the TL-PA9020P and it is not published for the smaller passthrough models in the range, so do not assume the same rating elsewhere. Maximum power draw of the adapter itself is 5.8 W at 230 V/50 Hz, falling to 0.5 W on standby.
128-bit AES, Pair-Button Setup and Broad Backward Compatibility
Powerline traffic is encrypted with 128-bit AES, and pairing is done with the Pair button rather than a configuration screen — plug both adapters in, press Pair on each, and the link forms. TP-Link states the kit is compatible with all AV2000, AV1200, AV1000, AV600, AV500 and AV200 powerline adapters, so it can be added to an existing HomePlug estate. The same footnote warns it may not work with routers or gateways running altered, open-source, non-standard or outdated firmware.
Ideal For
Singapore homes and small offices where Wi-Fi does not reach a bedroom, store room or rear unit, landed properties with thick walls, and any site where structured cabling is impractical. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.
Note: TP-Link's Singapore page publishes CE and RoHS certification only for this model, and publishes no net weight. Those rows are omitted here rather than filled from another model. The Plug Type row is published as a global list (EU, UK, US, FR); the Singapore SKU is the UK-plug variant shown in the product images.

Compatibility & Software Support
| Powerline Standard | HomePlug AV2 and HomePlug AV, with IEEE 1901 support |
| Other Powerline Adapters | Compatible with all AV2000, AV1200, AV1000, AV600, AV500 and AV200 powerline adapters |
| G.hn Powerline | Not applicable — HomePlug AV2 and G.hn are different powerline standards and do not interoperate |
| Router Compatibility | Works with a standard router or gateway. TP-Link cautions the product may not be compatible with routers or gateways whose firmware has been altered, is based on open source programs, or is non-standard or outdated |
| Utility | tpPLC Utility for Windows and Mac, downloadable from TP-Link support |
| Setup | Pair button; no software required for a basic link |
Powerline performance depends on the electrical circuit. Both adapters should sit on the same consumer unit; extension leads, RCD/AFCI breakers and separate circuits all reduce throughput.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-PA9020P KIT
Will I actually get 2000 Mbps?
No. The 2000 Mbps figure is the physical channel rate derived from the HomePlug AV2 specification. TP-Link states plainly that real throughput varies with distance, electrical noise, network traffic, building materials and the quality of the wiring. Treat it as a class rating, not a speed test result.
Do both adapters have to be on the same circuit?
They must be on the same electrical installation, and they work best on the same consumer unit. Crossing a distribution board, plugging into an extension lead or passing through an AFCI breaker will all cut performance. TP-Link rates the range at up to 300 metres over existing wiring.
Can I add more adapters later?
Yes. TP-Link lists compatibility with all AV2000, AV1200, AV1000, AV600, AV500 and AV200 adapters, so a third unit can be paired into the same network. It will not interoperate with G.hn powerline products such as the Deco PX50.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this in volume?
Yes. Send us the quantity and the delivery date and we will quote, including installation advice where the wiring layout is unusual.
