PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link 2.5G PoE+ Injector (POE260S) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The POE260S is the multi-gigabit PoE+ injector: two 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports and up to 30 W of 802.3at power in a compact 125 mm case. It is the part to fit when a 2.5G Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 access point has to hang off a switch with no PoE, and a Gigabit injector would cap the very link the access point was bought for.

2.5 Gbps On Both Ports, Not Just One

Data in and power-and-data out both negotiate 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps, so the injector is transparent to a multi-gigabit link rather than a Gigabit choke point in the middle of it. That is the whole reason this model exists: current Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points ship with 2.5G uplinks precisely because their radios can exceed a Gigabit, and powering one through a 1 Gbps injector would waste that. 2.5GBASE-T runs to 100 m on Cat5e or better — the cabling already in the wall.

30 W of 802.3af/at Power, Auto-Determined

Output is auto-determined up to a maximum of 30 W, complying with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at. That covers the large majority of indoor access points, fixed cameras, IP phones and sensors. The auto-sensing algorithm detects what the connected device requests and supplies only that, so an 802.3af device draws af-class power from the same unit without any setting being changed.

Compact Enough to Sit Where the Cable Runs

At 125 × 59.4 × 36.8 mm the POE260S is noticeably smaller than the 60 W and 90 W units, and wall mounting kits are supplied in the box alongside the power cord. It can be fixed above a ceiling tile, inside a cabinet or behind a rack rail rather than needing shelf space. A single Power/PoE LED reports state. Mains input is 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz, so it runs on Singapore supply directly.

Power and Data Down One Cable

The value of an injector is the cable it saves: rather than bringing a mains circuit to a ceiling-mounted access point or a wall-mounted camera, the device takes both data and power from one Ethernet run. For a small office or a retail unit with a handful of PoE devices and a non-PoE switch already installed, a per-device injector is materially cheaper than a switch replacement, and it can be added one device at a time as the deployment grows.

Ideal For

Singapore offices, retail sites and homes adding a 2.5G Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 access point, or another 802.3at device, to a switch that has no PoE and a link that must stay above a Gigabit. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support

A PoE adapter is a passive, plug-and-play power device. It carries no firmware, needs no licence, has no web interface and does not appear in an Omada Controller as a device — there is nothing on it to configure. It can, however, power Omada access points, cameras and other powered devices that comply with the standards below, and those devices remain fully manageable from an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller.

PoE Standards Supported IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at powered devices
Maximum Power Output 30 W, auto-determined per device
Link Speeds 10 Mbps / 100 Mbps / 1 Gbps / 2.5 Gbps on both ports
Cable Distance Up to 100 m; 2.5GBASE-T requires Cat5e or above
Configuration None — plug-and-play, no web interface, no firmware
Omada Controller Not adopted; the Omada device it powers remains fully managed

Check the power budget of the device you intend to run: a powered device draws what it draws, and an injector only supplies up to its published maximum. Send us the model you are powering and we will confirm the match before you order rather than infer it from a sibling product.

Frequently Asked Questions — POE260S

Why choose the POE260S over a Gigabit injector?

Because both of its ports run at up to 2.5 Gbps. A 2.5G access point powered through a Gigabit injector would be limited to 1 Gbps on its uplink, which defeats the reason for buying a multi-gigabit access point.

How much power does it supply?

Up to 30 W, complying with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, auto-determined according to what the connected device requests.

What cabling does 2.5 Gbps need?

Cat5e or above, to a maximum of 100 m, as published for 2.5GBASE-T. Existing Cat5e in the wall is usually sufficient.

Can it be mounted out of sight?

Yes. Wall mounting kits are supplied in the box, and at 125 × 59.4 × 36.8 mm the unit fits inside a cabinet or above a ceiling tile.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty, under Omada's replacement warranty tier for PoE accessories. Every injector sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this for a project?

Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — switching, access points, PoE accessories and gateways — with local warranty and support.
