TP-Link TL-WPA8631P AV1300 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline ac Wi-Fi Extender
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AV1300 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline ac Wi-Fi Extender (TL-WPA8631P) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The TL-WPA8631P is the single-unit version of TP-Link's AV1300 powerline Wi-Fi extender: three Gigabit ports, dual-band wireless and a passthrough socket in one wall-plug body. It is an add-on unit — it joins an existing powerline network rather than forming one on its own, so it is the right buy when you already have a powerline adapter at the router and want to cover one more room.
1300 Mbps Powerline, Gigabit Ethernet at Both Ends
TP-Link publishes transmission speeds of up to 1300 Mbps on the powerline side and 10/100/1000 Mbps on Ethernet, over HomePlug AV2 with IEEE 1901 support and a rated distance of 300 metres over existing wiring. As TP-Link's footnote makes clear, the powerline figure is a physical rate derived from the HomePlug specification: real throughput varies with electrical interference, traffic, network overhead, AFCI breakers and circuit separation.
Three Gigabit Ports in One Wall Plug
Three Gigabit Ethernet ports is unusual on a powerline extender and is the reason to choose this model over a plain adapter: a TV, a console and a desktop can all be wired from the one unit without a separate switch. QoS is supported with ToS classification, four traffic levels and eight VLAN priority levels, and IGMP v1/v2/v3 is published for multicast IPTV.
Dual-Band Wi-Fi With OneMesh
Wireless is published at 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. The unit supports OneMesh, so paired with a OneMesh-capable TP-Link router it extends the same network name with unified roaming instead of creating a second SSID. Wireless security is WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and WEP as published; powerline traffic is separately protected with 128-bit AES.
Keeps the Socket, and Has Its Own Buttons
The integrated passthrough outlet means the wall point stays usable. Buttons cover Pair, LED On/Off, Wi-Fi and Reset, and TP-Link's tpPLC app or desktop utility can manage the powerline network. Power draw is published at a maximum of 13 W and a typical 11 W, and the unit measures 75 x 42 x 152 mm.
Ideal For
Singapore households and small offices adding one more covered room to a powerline network that already exists, and anyone who needs several wired ports plus local Wi-Fi at the far end of the flat. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.
Note: this is an add-on unit. It must be paired with at least one other powerline adapter on the same electrical installation — on its own it cannot form a link. TP-Link's Wireless Standards row lists 802.11ax while the same page's Standards and Protocols row lists 802.11a/n/ac only, and the product is named, rated and marketed as an "ac" device at 300 + 867 Mbps; both rows are reproduced below as published. TP-Link publishes no net weight, no storage temperature or humidity row, no antenna specification and no FCC certification for this model, so none is claimed here.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-WPA8631P
Can I use this on its own?
No. It is an add-on extender and needs at least one other HomePlug AV or AV2 powerline adapter on the same electrical installation to pair with. If you are starting from scratch, order the TL-WPA8631P KIT, which includes a TL-PA8010P adapter for the router end.
Is this Wi-Fi 6?
No. TP-Link names, rates and markets it as an 802.11ac device at 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. One row on TP-Link's page also lists 802.11ax, contradicting the rest of the page; we reproduce both rather than pick one.
How many devices can I wire to it?
Three — it publishes three Gigabit Ethernet ports, plus the passthrough power socket.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this in volume?
Yes. Send us the quantity and the delivery date and we will quote.
