TP-Link Archer MR505 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (Archer MR505) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Archer MR505 is TP-Link's 4G+ Cat6 router for sites that need better mobile reception than an internal antenna can give. Two external SMA-F antenna interfaces let you fit detachable LTE antennas - or move to a higher-gain pair - while AC1200 dual-band Wi-Fi and three Gigabit ports serve the local network from a single nano SIM.
External SMA-F Antenna Interfaces for Weak-Signal Sites
The published interface list includes two external SMA-F antenna interfaces alongside the Ethernet ports and nano SIM slot, and the unit ships with two detachable external LTE antennas. That connector type is what separates the MR505 from routers with sealed internal antennas: in a basement, an industrial unit or a room with a metal-framed facade, the antennas can be repositioned or upgraded rather than the whole router being relocated to chase signal.
4G+ Cat6 Carrier Aggregation Across the Singapore Bands
The MR505 supports 4G+ Cat6 to boost the data speeds of up to 300 Mbps, aggregating two LTE carriers instead of one. TP-Link publishes FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28 and TDD-LTE B38/B40/B41, which spans the 1800, 2100 and 2600 MHz FDD bands and the 2300 and 2500 MHz TDD bands used locally, with DC-HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS on B1/B3/B5/B8 as fallback. WAN Failover is published, so the router can hold service when one path drops.
WPA3 on the Wireless Side, AC1200 Dual Band
Wi-Fi runs IEEE 802.11a/n/ac at 5 GHz and 802.11b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, published at 867 Mbps and 300 Mbps. The published wireless security list is 64/128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal and WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise - WPA3 is the difference against the MR500, whose published wireless security is WPA and WPA2 only. Separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz guest networks are supported for visitor or customer devices.
Three Gigabit Ports and a Larger Chassis
The MR505 carries one 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN/WAN port and two 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN ports - one port fewer than the MR500 - in a taller 212 × 157.5 × 57 mm body. The LAN/WAN port takes a wired broadband feed where one exists, so the same unit covers fixed-line, mobile-only and failover deployments. A 1.5 m power adapter is supplied.
Cloud Management, VPN Server and Parental Controls
Management is published as TP-Link Cloud, local management and remote management. A VPN server supporting PPTP VPN and OpenVPN allows remote access into the site network. Parental controls cover URL filtering and time controls, QoS prioritises traffic by device, and the published firewall set is DoS protection, IPv4 SPI firewall, IPv6 firewall, IP and MAC address binding, access control and service filtering.
Ideal For
Singapore sites with marginal indoor mobile coverage, worksites and temporary offices on mobile data, and businesses wanting a standby internet path on a second carrier. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

TP-Link does not publish a processor, memory, net weight or storage-temperature row for the Archer MR505, so none is claimed here. Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications; actual throughput and coverage vary with network conditions, client limitations, ISP factors and environmental conditions, and actual network speed may be limited by the Ethernet WAN/LAN port rate and the network cable.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer MR505
Can I fit higher-gain antennas?
The MR505 publishes two external SMA-F antenna interfaces and ships with two detachable LTE antennas, so the supplied pair can be repositioned or swapped. Antenna choice depends on your operator's bands and the site - send us the details and we will advise.
What LTE category is the Archer MR505?
4G+ Cat6, with internet downlink speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Cat6 aggregates two LTE carriers instead of one, and actual speeds depend on your operator, plan and signal at the site.
How does it differ from the Archer MR500?
Both are 4G+ Cat6 AC1200 routers with the same published band list and Wi-Fi rates. The MR505 has three Gigabit ports and two SMA-F antenna interfaces and its published wireless security includes WPA3; the MR500 has four Gigabit ports and publishes WPA/WPA2 only.
Does it come with a SIM card?
No. Supply your own nano SIM and data plan from your mobile operator.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link's published replacement warranty policy, with a GST invoice on every unit.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project?
Yes. Send the quantity and site list and we will quote the routers, antennas and local warranty support together.
