The TC72 is the AI-equipped member of TP-Link's indoor pan/tilt camera range: 2K QHD 4MP over a motorised head with 360 degree pan coverage, on-device machine learning that separates people, pets and vehicles from ordinary movement, a 99 dB siren, and - unusually for a consumer camera - published RTSP and ONVIF support. 2K QHD 4MP With a Starlight Sensor

A 1/3 inch progressive-scan CMOS Starlight sensor behind an F2.0, 4 mm lens delivers 2560 x 1440 at up to 30 fps, with 3D DNR noise reduction and WDR to hold detail against a bright window or shopfront. Twelve times digital zoom lets you pull in on a face or a plate in recorded footage, and the field of view is 88 degrees diagonal, 75 horizontal and 41 vertical.

On-Device AI That Knows a Person From a Curtain

The TC72 runs its detection locally. TP-Link publishes motion, person, pet, vehicle, line-crossing, tamper, baby-cry, meow, bark and glass-breaking detection, plus configurable activity zones - so a camera pointed at a corridor can ignore the ceiling fan and alert only on a person crossing a line you drew. Because the machine learning runs on the device rather than in the cloud, detection keeps working on a slow link and the video does not have to leave the premises to be classified.

360 Degree Pan Coverage and a 99 dB Siren

The motorised head pans 340 degrees for 360 degrees of pan coverage and tilts 69 degrees for 110 degrees of tilt coverage, so one unit in a corner reaches an entire room. A built-in siren rated at 99 dB, measured at 10 cm, gives the camera an active deterrent rather than only a record, and two-way audio with noise cancellation lets you speak through it from the app.

RTSP and ONVIF — Recordable by Third-Party Systems

TP-Link publishes both RTSP and ONVIF support for the TC72, which is the specification that matters if the camera has to feed a third-party NVR or VMS rather than only the Tapo app. Local recording is to a microSD card of up to 512 GB in the camera itself, with Tapo Care cloud storage available on subscription. Encrypted, Powered From a 9 V Adapter

Streams are protected with 128-bit AES encryption over SSL/TLS and the camera joins 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with WPA/WPA2-PSK.
