PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Omada Gigabit 48VDC Passive PoE Adapter (TL-POE4824G) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The TL-POE4824G is a mains-powered passive PoE injector that puts 48 V DC and Gigabit data onto a single Ethernet run, rated at 24 W. It is the part you reach for when a TP-Link device expects 48 V passive PoE rather than a standard 802.3af/at source, and it keeps full 10/100/1000 Mbps throughput on both ports so nothing is lost to the injection point.

48 V Passive PoE on a Single Cable Run

Passive PoE does not negotiate: the adapter places 48 V on the spare pairs and the powered device draws what it needs. TP-Link describes the TL-POE4824G as auto-detecting and auto-supplying the necessary power required, so the injector does not have to be configured for a particular load. That makes it straightforward to power a device mounted where there is no mains socket - a ceiling, a pole, a riser cupboard - while the only cable reaching it carries both power and data. Because the supply is passive rather than 802.3af/at, match the powered device's stated input voltage before connecting it.

Full Gigabit on Both Data Paths

Both RJ45 ports are shielded and run at 10/100/1000 Mbps: one Data IN port faces the switch, one Passive PoE port faces the powered device. Many older injectors cap the link at 100 Mbps and quietly become the slowest hop in a network; this one does not. Cabling follows the usual rules - Cat5e or Cat6 for 1000BASE-T, up to 100 m - and the shielded ports suit runs in electrically noisy plant rooms and industrial ceilings.

Plug-and-Play, Mains-Powered, Wall-Mountable

The unit takes 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz directly, so it needs no separate power brick, and TP-Link states plainly that it is plug-and-play and requires no configuration. A single PWR indicator confirms the supply. At 110 x 57 x 38.8 mm it is small enough to sit inside a wall box or on a shelf beside the switch, and the wall mounting kit is supplied in the box so it can be fixed neatly rather than left hanging on its own cable.

Built for Permanent Installation

Operating range is 0 to 40 °C with 10% to 90% non-condensing humidity, which covers a comms cupboard, a ceiling void or a sheltered plant area. Storage tolerance runs from -40 to 70 °C for units held in stock or shipped between sites. TP-Link lists FCC and RoHS certification for this model. It is a single-port injector by design - for multi-device deployments a PoE switch is the tidier answer, and SourceIT can quote either.

Ideal For

Singapore integrators and IT teams powering TP-Link devices that require 48 V passive PoE, retrofit installations where running mains to the device is impractical, and spares holdings for existing passive-PoE deployments. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support

The TL-POE4824G is a passive power injector. It carries no firmware, no licence and no management interface of its own, so it does not appear in an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller and nothing about it can be configured. It sits transparently in the cable path between a switch port and the powered device.

Omada Controller Not applicable — the adapter has no management plane and is not adopted by a controller
Power Standard Passive PoE at 48 V DC — not IEEE 802.3af/at/bt. The powered device must be specified for 48 V passive PoE input
Data Rate Transparent to 10/100/1000 Mbps — the adapter does not limit link speed
Configuration None — plug-and-play, no setup required

TP-Link does not publish a per-model list of devices supported by this adapter. If you are unsure whether your access point, camera or bridge accepts 48 V passive PoE, send us the model number and we will confirm against the manufacturer's specification before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-POE4824G

Will this power a standard 802.3af or 802.3at device?

No. The TL-POE4824G supplies passive PoE at 48 V, which is not the same as IEEE 802.3af/at. Only connect devices whose specification states 48 V passive PoE input. If you need a standards-based injector, ask us for an 802.3af/at model instead.

Does it slow the network link down?

No. Both RJ45 ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps, so a Gigabit link passes through at full speed over Cat5e or Cat6 up to 100 m.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty. Every TL-POE4824G sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?

Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points, optics and power accessories — with local warranty and support.
