The Archer GE550 is TP-Link's tri-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router: 5764 Mbps on 6 GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz under 802.11be, plus 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz under 802.11ax, with a 5 Gbps WAN port, a 5 Gbps LAN port, three 2.5 Gbps LAN ports, 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz and a Game Center built into the firmware.
Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 with 320 MHz on 6 GHz
The BE9300 rating comes from three bands: 6 GHz at 5764 Mbps, 5 GHz at 2882 Mbps and 2.4 GHz at 574 Mbps. TP-Link lists 320 MHz channels and 4K-QAM, and describes Multi-Link Operation using the 6 GHz and 5 GHz bands together for gaming. The 320 MHz width is only available on 6 GHz and may be restricted by local regulation, and all of these features need Wi-Fi 7 clients.
Five Multi-Gig Ethernet Ports
Wired connections are a 5 Gbps WAN port, a 5 Gbps LAN port and three 2.5 Gbps LAN ports — no Gigabit-only ports at all. That leaves room for a multi-gig fibre plan on the WAN side and a gaming PC, console or NAS at 2.5 Gbps or 5 Gbps on the LAN side. 5 Gbps internet speeds need a compatible service plan and equipment.
Game Center: Acceleration, Game Panel and Statistics
The firmware includes Game Acceleration (game applications prioritised through QoS, game devices through a Gaming Port, and game servers through TP-Link's GPN), a Game Panel showing network status, router performance, RGB settings and accelerated games, comprehensive gaming traffic reports, and a dedicated 5 GHz gaming band.
Launch-Pad Design with RGB Lighting
TP-Link describes a launch-pad style chassis with multicolour lighting modes and four optimally positioned antennas, driven by a quad-core CPU. The lighting is set from the Game Panel.
HomeShield, WireGuard and EasyMesh
HomeShield adds real-time IoT protection, malicious site blocking, intrusion prevention, DDoS prevention and a home network scanner, with advanced features on a paid subscription. OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard are supported as both VPN server and client, and the GE550 is EasyMesh-compatible for extending coverage with other EasyMesh routers and extenders.

No. TP-Link rates the 2.4 GHz band at 574 Mbps under 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6); the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands are 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7).
