The Archer BE550 Pro is a BE9700 tri-band Wi-Fi 7 router with 320 MHz channels on 6 GHz, Multi-Link Operation across all three bands, a 10 Gbps WAN port and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports, in an upright chassis with six optimally positioned internal antennas.
BE9700 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 with 320 MHz
TP-Link rates the BE550 Pro at up to 9.7 Gbps combined across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, reachable only by Wi-Fi 7 clients that support MLO and 6 GHz. The 320 MHz channel width is available only on 6 GHz and may be restricted in some regions. Coverage is rated for four-bedroom houses, using six optimally positioned antennas, Beamforming and high-power FEMs.
Multi-Link Operation
MLO transmits data to Wi-Fi 7 clients over multiple bands at once. TP-Link's 4x lower latency figure comes from laboratory tests comparing MLO across 5 GHz and 6 GHz against a Wi-Fi 6/6E router on a single band.
10 Gbps WAN and Four 2.5 Gbps LAN
A 10 Gbps WAN port accepts a 10G fibre handoff, and four 2.5 Gbps LAN ports serve multi-gig PCs, NAS units and switches. A USB 3.0 port provides FTP, media and Samba sharing. 10 Gbps internet speeds require a compatible service plan and equipment.
HomeShield, WireGuard and EasyMesh
HomeShield includes a free Basic Plan (Pro Plan chargeable) covering IoT protection, malicious site blocking, intrusion prevention, DDoS prevention and a network scanner. OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard run as VPN server and client, and EasyMesh compatibility allows whole-home mesh with other EasyMesh devices.
