The Archer BE450 is a BE7200 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router: 5765 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz under 802.11be, with Multi-Link Operation, a 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port, a 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, internal antennas and the option to stand it on a desk or mount it on a wall.
7.2 Gbps Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7
Without a 6 GHz band, the BE450 puts its Wi-Fi 7 capacity into 5 GHz at 5765 Mbps and 2.4 GHz at 1376 Mbps. TP-Link rates it for three-bedroom houses with High capacity — dual-band, MU-MIMO, OFDMA, Airtime Fairness, DFS and four streams — and lists MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs.
MLO Across 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz
Multi-Link Operation sends data to Wi-Fi 7 clients over both bands at once to raise throughput and reliability. TP-Link's lower-latency claim is based on laboratory tests of MLO clients on its 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands against a Wi-Fi 6/6E router without MLO.
10G and 2.5G Wired Connections
One 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port, one 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port and three 1 Gbps LAN ports cover a multi-gig fibre connection plus a fast NAS or PC. A USB 3.0 port adds FTP, media and Samba sharing. Multi-gig internet speeds need a compatible service plan and equipment, and a separate modem may be required.
Desk or Wall Installation
TP-Link offers two installation options: on a desk or hung vertically on a wall, saving space in a flat or service cabinet. The internal antenna design leaves no external antennas to position.
HomeShield, WireGuard and EasyMesh
HomeShield provides IoT protection, malicious site blocking, intrusion prevention, DDoS prevention and a network scanner, with advanced features on a paid subscription. OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard run as server and client, and EasyMesh compatibility allows mesh expansion with other EasyMesh devices.
