The Archer BE400 is a BE6500 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router: 5764 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM, six external antennas and two 2.5 Gbps ports.
6.5 Gbps Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7
Most of the BE400's capacity sits on 5 GHz at 5764 Mbps, with 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. TP-Link rates it for three-bedroom houses with High capacity from dual-band operation, MU-MIMO, OFDMA, Airtime Fairness, DFS and four streams, and lists MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs.
Multi-Link Operation
MLO lets Wi-Fi 7 clients transmit over the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands at once to increase throughput and reduce latency. TP-Link bases its lower-latency claim on laboratory tests against Wi-Fi 6/6E routers without MLO, and the feature needs Wi-Fi 7 clients.
Dual 2.5 Gbps Ports
A 2.5 Gbps WAN port and a 2.5 Gbps LAN port break through the 1 Gbps limit on both sides, with three further 1 Gbps LAN ports and a USB 3.0 port for FTP, media and Samba sharing. 2.5 Gbps internet speeds need a compatible service plan and equipment.
Six Antennas, HomeShield and EasyMesh
Six external antennas with Beamforming direct signal towards clients. HomeShield covers IoT protection, malicious site blocking, intrusion prevention, DDoS prevention and a network scanner (advanced features by paid subscription), OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard run as server and client, and EasyMesh compatibility allows mesh expansion.
