The Archer BE3600 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router delivering 2882 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz under 802.11be, with Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM, four external antennas, two 2.5 Gbps ports and a USB 3.0 port.
3.6 Gbps Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7
Both bands run 802.11be, and TP-Link lists Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs, so Wi-Fi 7 phones and laptops can use the two bands together. Capacity is rated High, with 2x2 MU-MIMO, OFDMA, Airtime Fairness, DFS and four streams.
Two 2.5 Gbps Ports
Wired connections are a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, a 2.5 Gbps LAN port and three 1 Gbps LAN ports, giving multi-gig on both the internet and local side. 2.5 Gbps internet speeds require a compatible service plan and equipment.
Four External Antennas with Beamforming
Four external antennas and Beamforming give TP-Link's rated three-bedroom coverage. An IoT Network option keeps smart-home devices on their own network, and the router works with Alexa and Google Assistant.
HomeShield, VPN and EasyMesh
HomeShield includes a free Basic Plan (Pro Plan chargeable) with IoT protection, malicious site blocking, intrusion prevention, DDoS prevention and a network scanner. OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and WireGuard run as VPN server and client, EasyMesh compatibility allows whole-home mesh, and a USB 3.0 port offers FTP, media and Samba sharing.

MLO, 4K-QAM and Multi-RUs need Wi-Fi 7 clients. Older devices connect normally and still benefit from the 2.5 Gbps ports.
