TP-Link Archer AX55 AX3000 Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AX3000 Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Router (Archer AX55) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Archer AX55 is TP-Link's mainstream AX3000: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, five Gigabit ports, a USB 3.0 port for network storage and the newer HomeShield security suite rather than the older HomeCare. It adds WPA3 and both OneMesh and EasyMesh, which its close sibling the AX50 does not publish.
AX3000 Speeds on Four Streams
TP-Link rates the AX55 at 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz using 802.11ax with HE160, and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, also 802.11ax. Four streams plus OFDMA let the router serve several Wi-Fi 6 clients inside one transmission slot instead of queuing them, which is what keeps a busy flat responsive when phones, a TV, a console and two laptops are all live. HE160 speeds need a client that supports 160 MHz bandwidth, and 160 MHz may be restricted in some regions.
Four Fixed Antennas, Beamforming and High-Power FEM
Coverage comes from four fixed high-performance antennas acting as a signal-boosting array, Beamforming that aims signal at the client rather than radiating evenly, and a high-power front-end module. TP-Link rates the result at three-bedroom houses. Airtime Fairness stops a slow legacy device holding the channel longer than it needs, and DFS opens extra 5 GHz channels to step around congestion in a dense HDB block.
Five Gigabit Ports and a USB 3.0 Share
The AX55 has one Gigabit WAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports. A single USB 3.0 port reads NTFS, exFAT, HFS+ and FAT32 volumes and serves them over FTP, a media server or Samba, and it works as an Apple Time Machine target. Physical controls are a Wi-Fi/WPS button, a power on/off button and a reset button. Power is 12 V DC, 2 A.
HomeShield Security, WPA3 and a VPN Client
Security here is HomeShield: real-time IoT protection, a malicious site blocker, an intrusion prevention system, DDoS attack prevention and a home network scanner, on top of an SPI firewall, access control, IP and MAC binding and an application layer gateway. Encryption covers WPA, WPA2, WPA3 and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise with 802.1x. The router runs OpenVPN and PPTP server roles, and also acts as an OpenVPN, PPTP or L2TP VPN client. HomeShield includes a free basic plan; the Pro plan is a paid subscription.
OneMesh and EasyMesh Both Supported
Unlike several routers in the range, the AX55 publishes both OneMesh and EasyMesh support, so it can be paired with TP-Link OneMesh extenders or joined to an EasyMesh network built from compatible devices of other brands. It also runs in Access Point mode, so it can sit behind an existing ISP gateway and take over only the wireless side. Parental controls are the HomeShield set with custom profiles, a content filter library, Family Time, Bedtime, Off Time, Time Rewards and weekly and monthly reports.
Ideal For
Singapore households on a 1 Gbps fibre plan who want Wi-Fi 6 with WPA3, HomeShield and USB file sharing, and the option to mesh later with OneMesh or EasyMesh gear. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer AX55
How is the Archer AX55 different from the Archer AX50?
Both are AX3000 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 routers with the same 2402 and 574 Mbps rates, but TP-Link publishes WPA3, HomeShield, OneMesh and EasyMesh and a VPN client for the AX55, while the AX50 publishes WPA2-level encryption, the older HomeCare suite, no mesh row, and link aggregation across two LAN ports that the AX55 does not list.
Does it support mesh?
Yes. TP-Link publishes both OneMesh and EasyMesh support for this model, so it can pair with TP-Link OneMesh extenders or join an EasyMesh network.
What can I do with the USB 3.0 port?
Attach a drive formatted NTFS, exFAT, HFS+ or FAT32 and share it over FTP, a media server or Samba. It also works as an Apple Time Machine target.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
