Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh for a whole home, supplied as 3 units. Each node runs 6 GHz at 5760 Mbps, 5 GHz at 4320 Mbps and 2.4 GHz at 574 Mbps, and carries four 2.5 Gbps auto-sensing Ethernet ports plus a USB 3.0 port. Multi-Link Operation lets a capable client hold links on more than one band at the same time instead of choosing between them.

Four 2.5 Gbps Ports on Every Unit

Each Deco BE65 node carries four 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, all WAN/LAN auto-sensing. On the unit facing your ONT one port takes the incoming service and the remaining three feed wired devices or an optional Ethernet backhaul hop. With 12 such ports across the pack, that is a large pool of multi-gigabit wired connections, which matters if you run a NAS, a games console and a work laptop on cable rather than Wi-Fi. Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE65 product page: “2.5 Gbps internet speeds require compatible service plans and equipment. All WAN/LAN ports will operate as either WAN or LAN ports. Only one port can serve as a WAN port at a time.”

Multi-Link Operation

MLO is the change Wi-Fi 7 actually delivers in a home. A client that supports it holds links on more than one band simultaneously rather than picking one, which steadies throughput and cuts the latency spikes you get when a single band congests. TP-Link lists Multi-Link Operation (MLO) in the Deco BE65 advanced-features row and states that the client has to support the feature too, so the benefit arrives as you replace phones and laptops rather than on day one. TP-Link does not publish which bands MLO pairs on this model, so none is stated here.

320 MHz Channels on the 6 GHz Band

The BE65 supports 320 MHz channel width, twice the 160 MHz ceiling of Wi-Fi 6 mesh. TP-Link publishes one important limit in its own footnote: 320 MHz is available only on the 6 GHz band, and regulators in some markets restrict the wider channels. The 6 GHz band is also the quietest of the three in a dense HDB or condominium block, which is where that headroom is most useful.

Room for a Busy Household

TP-Link headlines the Deco BE65 as “Connect Over 200 Devices”, and rates its WiFi Capacity “Very High” on the strength of tri-band operation, 2×2 MU-MIMO, OFDMA and 6 streams. That device figure is a laboratory result, not a guarantee. Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE65 product page: “Maximum wireless signal rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Connection to over 200 devices is based on laboratory test data, which analyzed the connections of different devices on the 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and 2.4 GHz bands simultaneously. These devices simulated a typical home scenario by running simultaneous applications in the same room that included 4K video, 1080p video, 720p video, file downloading, web browsing, IP cameras, and other IoT devices. Actual wireless data throughput, wireless coverage, and connected devices are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of internet service provider factors, network conditions, client limitations, and environmental factors, including building materials, obstacles, volume and density of traffic, and client location.”

What TP-Link Publishes About Coverage

TP-Link publishes no coverage rating per pack size for the Deco BE65. What it does publish is a test environment of 4,600 sq. ft. | 2 Floors | 5 Bedrooms, which is a test result rather than a rated coverage area and is not stated for any particular pack size. Per TP-Link's Singapore Deco BE65 product page: “The test was conducted in a 4,600 sq. ft. two-story villa with 5 bedrooms with an interior made up of drywall. The Deco BE65 was tested with 2×2 MLO-compatible clients. USB 3.0 Storage Sharing

Every Deco BE65 carries a USB 3.0 port, published for FTP server, media server and Samba server use. Plug in a drive and it is reachable across the home network without adding a NAS.
