TP-Link Archer T4U AC1300 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AC1300 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (Archer T4U) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Archer T4U is TP-Link's dual-band AC1300 USB adapter with two high-gain external antennas and a WPS button, connecting over USB 3.0. It gives a desktop or notebook a dual-band wireless link rated at up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, and is the longest-running model in TP-Link's AC1300 USB line.
Dual-Band AC1300 Performance
TP-Link publishes up to 867 Mbps (dynamic) on 5 GHz under 802.11ac and up to 400 Mbps (dynamic) on 2.4 GHz under 802.11n. The 5 GHz band is the one to use for video conferencing, large file transfers and streaming; 2.4 GHz travels further through walls and floors and is the more reliable choice at distance. The adapter supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac across both published frequencies, so it will connect to essentially any existing router in service. Published rates are physical-layer maximums, not throughput.
Two High-Gain External Antennas
Two high-gain external antennas are fitted rather than the internal pattern used on nano adapters. They fold and pivot, so they can be aimed at the router and kept clear of a metal chassis. TP-Link publishes a transmission power of <20 dBm (EIRP) and a 256-QAM-capable modulation set of DBPSK, DQPSK, CCK, 16-QAM, 64-QAM and 256-QAM. In practice the external antennas are what separate this model from a flush adapter in rooms away from the access point.
Two Official Names for One Adapter
TP-Link markets this adapter under two different official names. The product name in the heading is "AC1300 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter", while the name printed on the packaging contents is "AC1300 High Gain Wireless MU-MIMO USB Adapter Archer T4U". Both are TP-Link's own wording for the same Archer T4U, and we reproduce both rather than picking one and quietly dropping the other. Order by the model code, Archer T4U, and either box wording is the correct product.
WPS Button and USB 3.0
A WPS button on the adapter body allows a one-press join to a router that supports WPS, avoiding manual SSID and passphrase entry. The host connection is USB 3.0, which keeps the computer-side link ahead of the wireless link. The adapter measures 3.64 x 1.24 x 0.55 in. (92.47 x 31.55 x 13.9 mm), so it clears neighbouring ports on most desktop rear panels, though the antennas need vertical space behind a tower case.
Check the Operating-System List Before Ordering
Published system requirements are Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP with Mac OS X 10.9-10.13. A Windows 11 64-bit driver is published for this adapter, and hardware versions V5.60, V5, V3, V2 and V1 are supported. Drivers are published per hardware version, so the revision you receive matters. macOS drivers are published for hardware versions V3, V2 and V1 only.
Ideal For
Singapore desktop users and small offices adding dual-band Wi-Fi to a tower PC without a wireless card, or upgrading an older single-band adapter. Best suited where the antennas can be positioned in clear air. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer T4U
Why does the box name differ from the product name?
TP-Link uses two official names for this adapter: "AC1300 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter" in the product heading and "AC1300 High Gain Wireless MU-MIMO USB Adapter Archer T4U" on the package contents. Both refer to the same Archer T4U. Order by the model code.
Which hardware version will I receive?
Drivers are published for V5.60, V5, V3, V2 and V1. Tell us if a specific revision is required and we will confirm what is in stock before invoicing.
Does it support Windows 11 or current macOS?
Published system requirements are Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP and Mac OS X 10.9-10.13, so neither Windows 11 nor a newer macOS release is named there. A Windows 11 64-bit driver is listed in the Singapore download centre. Confirm your build with us before a volume order.
What is MU-MIMO and do I need it?
MU-MIMO lets a router serve several clients at once rather than in sequence. TP-Link's footnote states that MU-MIMO capability requires a wireless router that also supports MU-MIMO; on a router without it, the adapter still connects normally.
Does it support WPA3?
The published security set for this model is 64/128 bit WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. We do not list a WPA3 figure here, so if your network is set to WPA3-only, confirm compatibility with us before ordering.
What does the WPS button do?
It joins the adapter to a router that supports WPS with one press, so you do not have to type the SSID and passphrase. The Archer T4U and Archer T4U Plus are separate models with separate published specifications; tell us which model code you need and we will supply that one.
What warranty applies in Singapore?
3 Years Local Warranty (Singapore). TP-Link Singapore's replacement-warranty policy states a three-year default and does not list USB wireless adapters among its exception categories.
Can SourceIT quote quantity?
Yes. Send the quantity and we will quote with local warranty, GST invoice and delivery in Singapore.
