TP-Link Archer C50 AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Router
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band Router (Archer C50) - 3 Years Local Warranty
Product lifecycle note: TP-Link marks the Archer C50 as End of Life on its own Singapore product page. It remains listed here while stock lasts and is covered by the same local warranty; for a current equivalent, the Archer C64 offers AC1200 speeds with Gigabit ports, and the Archer AX12 or AX10 move up to Wi-Fi 6.
The Archer C50 is a long-running AC1200 dual-band router — 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, four fixed antennas and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet — that runs in Router, Access Point or Range Extender mode. It has shipped through six hardware revisions, which matters when reading its specification; see the note at the end of the specification section.
AC1200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi
TP-Link rates the C50 at 867 Mbps on 5 GHz using 802.11ac and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz using 802.11n, with coverage rated at three-bedroom houses. Four fixed antennas form a signal-boosting array and Beamforming concentrates signal towards connected clients. 2×2 MU-MIMO lets the router communicate with several MU-MIMO-capable clients at once rather than serving them in turn.
10/100 Mbps Ethernet — the Specification to Check First
Every wired port on the Archer C50 is 10/100 Mbps: one WAN port and four LAN ports. Wired throughput, and the internet connection passing through the router, are therefore capped at 100 Mbps regardless of the fibre plan behind it. TP-Link's own page footnote states this directly — internet plans greater than 100 Mbps will be limited by the product's Ethernet WAN port. If you are on a 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps plan, choose the Archer C64, C80 or an AX model instead.
Three Working Modes
Router, Access Point and Range Extender modes are all published, so the C50 can serve as a primary router in a small flat, as a wireless access point behind an ISP gateway, or as a repeater extending an existing network into a back room. Management is through the TP-Link Tether app or a browser, with TP-Link ID, OTA firmware upgrades and DDNS.
Security and Mesh
Network security covers an SPI firewall, access control, IP and MAC binding, an application layer gateway and IoT security, with guest networks on both bands. TP-Link's current specification block lists encryption as WPA, WPA2, WPA3 and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise (802.1x) — the page prints the third of these as "WAP3", which is a typographical error on TP-Link's side and is noted rather than silently corrected. EasyMesh is published for this model, and TP-Link's own wording adds that it also works with other TP-Link products to create a OneMesh network.
Parental Controls and Traffic Management
Parental controls are URL filtering and time controls, with QoS by device, IPTV support through IGMP proxy, snooping, bridge and tag VLAN, and the usual NAT forwarding set of port forwarding, port triggering, DMZ and UPnP. DDNS providers are TP-Link, NO-IP and DynDNS. TP-Link publishes no processor row, no USB port and no VPN server for the Archer C50.
Ideal For
Small Singapore flats, rental units and second-room repeater duty on internet plans of 100 Mbps or below, where a proven, inexpensive dual-band router is what is wanted. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice while stock lasts.

Important sourcing note: the Archer C50 has shipped in hardware versions V1 to V6, and TP-Link's Singapore product page carries two overlapping specification blocks that disagree on power rating, dimensions, storage temperature, package contents and reception sensitivity. Where the two disagree, both published figures are given above rather than one being chosen or averaged, and nothing has been taken from a sibling model. TP-Link publishes no net weight for this model. Tell us which hardware revision you need and we will confirm it against the unit before despatch.

Frequently Asked Questions — Archer C50
Are the ports Gigabit?
No. Both of TP-Link's specification blocks give 10/100 Mbps for the WAN port and all four LAN ports, so wired throughput is capped at 100 Mbps. One package-contents line on TP-Link's page calls the product a "Gigabit Router"; that wording does not match the published port specification.
Which hardware version will I receive?
The Archer C50 has shipped as V1 to V6 and TP-Link's specification page mixes figures across revisions. Tell us which version you need and we will confirm it against stock before despatch.
Is it still current?
TP-Link marks the Archer C50 as End of Life on its Singapore page. It is still supported under local warranty; the Archer C64 is the closest current AC1200 model, with Gigabit ports.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, under TP-Link's published replacement warranty terms. Every unit is supplied with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for an office or a project?
Yes. Send us the quantity and we will quote with local warranty, delivery and support.
