PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE200) - 3 Years Local Warranty

The RE200 is TP-Link’s AC750 extender with three internal antennas and OneMesh support: 433 Mbps on 5 GHz, 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, a 10/100 Ethernet port and a 110.0 x 65.8 x 75.2 mm body. With a OneMesh router it folds into one network rather than adding a second Wi-Fi name.

OneMesh on an Entry-Level Extender

TP-Link lists OneMesh as the RE200’s mesh technology, which is unusual at this price. Paired with a OneMesh router, the RE200 and the router share one SSID and clients move between them automatically as you walk around. Without a OneMesh router it works as a conventional extender with its own configuration.

Three Internal Antennas

Three antennas, all internal, so there is nothing to aim or snag. TP-Link publishes transmission power of under 20 dBm EIRP and a detailed reception-sensitivity table covering both bands, which is a more meaningful indicator for an extender than headline speed: how weak a router signal it can still make sense of.

High Speed Mode Uses One Band at a Time

TP-Link notes that in high speed mode the RE200 offers maximum performance but limits the connection to a single band, 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. It is a deliberate trade, and worth knowing before you enable it: throughput goes up, but devices that need the other band will not find it.

RE Button, and a WPS Caveat

The unit has an RE (Range Extender) button and a Reset button. TP-Link notes that the band used when connecting via the WPS buttons is sometimes indefinite and depends on the router’s settings — if you want both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz extended, set the connection up through the RE200’s web configuration page rather than by button alone.

Ideal For

Singapore homes with a TP-Link OneMesh router that want one Wi-Fi name across the flat at the lowest cost, and anyone who prefers an extender with nothing protruding from it. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

TP-Link publishes no coverage area, supported client count or net weight for the RE200, so none is claimed here. Actual Wi-Fi speeds vary with the user environment; in high speed mode the RE200 limits the connection to one band.

Compatibility & Software Support
Works With Any standard Wi-Fi router or gateway, in Range Extender mode
Mesh OneMesh — one Wi-Fi name and seamless roaming when paired with a OneMesh router
WPS Setup The band used when connecting via the WPS buttons is sometimes indefinite and depends on the router’s settings; configure via the web page to extend both bands
Operating Systems Microsoft Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7, 8, 10; Mac OS; NetWare; UNIX or Linux

Check TP-Link’s OneMesh router list before relying on single-SSID roaming; a non-OneMesh router will still be extended, but as a separate network.

Frequently Asked Questions — RE200

Do I need a TP-Link router to use OneMesh?

Yes. OneMesh is TP-Link’s own system, so single-Wi-Fi-name roaming requires a OneMesh-capable TP-Link router. Any other router can still be extended, just as a separate network.

RE200 or RE205?

Both are AC750 with the same speed ratings and a 10/100 port. The RE200 has three internal antennas and OneMesh; the RE205 has two aimable external antennas and no published mesh row. Choose the RE200 for OneMesh, the RE205 if you would rather aim the antennas.

Which hardware version is this?

TP-Link’s Singapore page publishes V3 for the RE200. Hardware version availability varies by region — check the label on the unit before downloading firmware.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link’s published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
