PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link AC1200 Mesh Wi-Fi Extender (RE330) - 3 Years Local Warranty

The RE330 is a slim AC1200 wall-plug extender with two internal antennas, 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. At 69.5 x 35.0 x 124.1 mm it is the least obtrusive model in this range — nothing to knock or snag, and it will not crowd the second socket on a standard faceplate.

Internal Antennas, Slim Body

The RE330 keeps both antennas inside the case rather than putting them on external stalks. That trades a little aimability for a much tidier installation, which is the right call in a corridor, a living room or anywhere the extender will sit at eye level. Maximum power draw is 9.5 W from a 100-240 V outlet, and the unit is managed through a web browser or the Tether app.

AC1200 Dual-Band Coverage

TP-Link rates the RE330 at 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. That is enough headroom for streaming, video calls and general use in a room the router cannot properly reach. The Ethernet port is a 10/100 Mbps RJ45, so a device wired through the extender is capped at 100 Mbps — worth knowing if you intended to wire a NAS or a desk PC behind it.

OneMesh: One Wi-Fi Name With a OneMesh Router

TP-Link markets the RE330 as a OneMesh extender on its own product page: “OneMesh™ is a simple way to form a Mesh network with a single Wi-Fi name for seamless whole-home coverage.” The listed benefits are Smart Roaming, one Wi-Fi name, easy creation from a OneMesh router plus a OneMesh range extender, and unified management in the Tether app. It needs a TP-Link OneMesh-capable router on current firmware — with any other router the RE330 still works as an ordinary extender, but not as one mesh network.

Range Extender and Access Point Modes

Working modes are Range Extender and Access Point. Published wireless functions are enabling or disabling the wireless radio and wireless statistics. Wireless security covers 64/128-bit WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption, with transmission power rated at 2.4 GHz 20 dBm or under and 5 GHz 30 dBm or under.

Smart Roaming Needs 802.11k/v Clients

TP-Link’s RE330 page footnotes that Smart Roaming requires devices supporting the IEEE 802.11k/v standards. Most phones and laptops from the last several years do; older tablets, printers and smart-home devices often do not, and will stay attached to whichever access point they joined first until they lose it entirely.

Ideal For

Singapore flats and small offices where the extender has to be discreet, and households already running a TP-Link OneMesh router that want one Wi-Fi name rather than a fast wired drop. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

The RE330’s specification table carries no mesh-technology row, but the product page’s feature copy markets OneMesh support directly — so the OneMesh capability here is taken from that feature copy, not from the table. The certification row lists FCC and RoHS only; no CE mark is listed. TP-Link publishes no plug-type row, no box dimensions, no coverage area, no supported client count and no net weight for the RE330, so none is claimed here. TP-Link footnotes that actual wireless data rates vary with environmental factors, network conditions and device limitations.

Frequently Asked Questions — RE330

How is the RE330 different from the RE305?

Both are AC1200 with a 10/100 Ethernet port and the same 300 Mbps and 867 Mbps ratings. The RE330 is a slim 69.5 x 35.0 x 124.1 mm unit with two internal antennas and is marketed with OneMesh; the RE305 is a squarer 80 x 78 x 77 mm body with two external antennas and TP-Link publishes no mesh technology for it. Pick the RE330 for tidiness and for one Wi-Fi name with a OneMesh router, the RE305 if you would rather aim the antennas.

Is it a mesh extender?

Yes, with a TP-Link OneMesh router. TP-Link’s RE330 page markets OneMesh directly — one Wi-Fi name, Smart Roaming and unified management in the Tether app. Your existing TP-Link router must be OneMesh-capable and running OneMesh firmware; with any other router the RE330 works as a standard extender with its own network. TP-Link does not describe the RE330 as EasyMesh.

How fast is the Ethernet port?

10/100 Mbps. A device wired through the RE330 is limited to 100 Mbps regardless of the Wi-Fi speed behind it.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link’s published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
