PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link 300Mbps Wi-Fi Range Extender (TL-WA855RE) - 3 Years Local Warranty

The TL-WA855RE is the smallest extender TP-Link makes for this range: a 52 x 34 x 65 mm body with two external antennas, 2.4 GHz at up to 300 Mbps, a 10/100 Ethernet port and about 3 W of draw. An RJ-45 cable is included, and it is the least obtrusive way to fix one weak 2.4 GHz room.

Tiny Body, Aimable Antennas

At 52 x 34 x 65 mm this is a genuinely small unit — less than half the footprint of the TL-WA850RE — yet TP-Link fits two external antennas to it. That combination is unusual: most extenders this small go internal. Being able to angle the antennas toward the router is worth a few minutes once the socket is chosen.

Single-Band 2.4 GHz Up to 300 Mbps

The TL-WA855RE covers 2.4 to 2.4835 GHz with published rates of up to 300 Mbps on 802.11n, 54 Mbps on 802.11g and 11 Mbps on 802.11b. It does not extend a 5 GHz network. For older laptops, printers, cameras and smart-home devices that all sit on 2.4 GHz anyway, that is not the limitation it sounds.

A Wired Port and an Included Cable

One 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port lets a smart TV, set-top box or desktop in the extended room join by cable rather than over the air, and TP-Link includes an RJ-45 Ethernet cable in the box. Maximum consumption is about 3 W from a 100-240 V outlet, so it can be left permanently plugged in.

Straightforward Controls and Security

The unit has an RE (Range Extender) button and a Reset button. Published wireless functions are wireless MAC address filtering, a domain login function and transmit power control. Wireless security covers 64/128/152-bit WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, with transmission power under 20 dBm EIRP.

Ideal For

Singapore flats, rental rooms and small offices that need a discreet 2.4 GHz extender in a crowded socket, and low-cost deployments where the extended devices are 2.4 GHz anyway. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty and GST invoice.

This is a single-band 2.4 GHz product; it does not extend a 5 GHz network. TP-Link publishes no mesh-technology row, no coverage area, no supported client count and no net weight for the TL-WA855RE, so none is claimed here. Maximum wireless signal rates are physical rates from the IEEE 802.11 specifications; actual throughput and coverage are not guaranteed.

Compatibility & Software Support
Works With Any standard Wi-Fi router or gateway broadcasting on 2.4 GHz
5 GHz Networks Not supported — this is a 2.4 GHz-only device

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-WA855RE

Will it extend my 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

No. The TL-WA855RE is 2.4 GHz only. For 5 GHz coverage choose a dual-band model such as the RE205, RE305 or RE505X.

How small is it really?

52 x 34 x 65 mm, which is small enough not to block the neighbouring socket on most Singapore faceplates. The two antennas fold against the body when not aimed.

Is an Ethernet cable included?

Yes. TP-Link lists an RJ-45 Ethernet cable in the box along with the extender and its Quick Installation Guide.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link’s published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
