Two cameras in one body
The Rally AI Camera Pro is not simply a faster version of the Rally AI Camera - it is a dual-camera device. Alongside the same one-inch, 20-megapixel digital PTZ camera found in the standard model, it carries a second, motorised 8-megapixel PTZ camera with 15x zoom (5x optical x 3x digital), mechanical pan of ±90° and tilt of +50° to -90°. The wide camera holds the room; the motorised camera reaches down it. Combined, they cover 262° horizontally and 192° vertically - more than most rooms will ever need.
What optical zoom actually buys you
Digital zoom crops pixels; optical zoom moves glass. In a long boardroom, training room or lecture theatre, a digital crop of someone at the far end degrades quickly, while 5x optical holds a clean, detailed face. This is the practical reason to choose the Pro over the standard Rally AI Camera. In a small or medium room where everyone is close to the camera, that advantage largely disappears and the standard model is the sensible buy.
RightSight 2 decides which camera to use
RightSight 2 automatically frames groups, individuals and presenters, and with two cameras available it can switch between the wide view and the motorised close shot as the meeting moves. Participants get a properly composed shot without anyone touching a controller.
One cable: PoE++
The Pro runs on PoE++ - a step above the PoE+ used by the standard model, because it is driving a motorised camera as well. A single Ethernet run still carries both power and network, so no mains outlet is needed at the camera position. Confirm your switch or injector supplies PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) before installation.

Do I actually need the optical zoom?
It depends on the room. Optical zoom moves glass rather than cropping pixels, so it holds detail on a face at the far end of a long room where a digital crop would fall apart. In a small or medium room where everyone sits close, you are unlikely to see the benefit - the standard Rally AI Camera costs less and covers it. We would rather you bought the right one.
Will a PoE+ switch power it?
No. The Pro requires PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt), a higher power class than the PoE+ used by the standard Rally AI Camera, because it drives a motorised camera as well. Check your switch or injector before installation - this catches people out.
Does it include microphones or a speaker?
No. It is a camera only. In rooms large enough to justify it, plan for multiple Rally Mic Pods and a Rally Speaker or an installed audio system.
