The HPE Networking CW 2150 24p 10M/100M/1G PoE+ 4p SFP 1G Combo 4p SFP+ 1G/10G 405W Switch (S6X51A) belongs to HPE's CW 2150 Switch Series, which HPE describes as fully managed, stackable Layer 3 switches for small and medium-sized businesses and branch offices. It provides 24 x 10M/100M/1G RJ-45 PoE+ + 4 x 1G SFP combo + 4 x 1G/10G SFP+.

HPE rates the CW 2150 series at up to 176 Gbps of nonblocking bandwidth, and this model adds four 1G SFP combo ports plus four 1G/10G SFP+ uplinks for fibre or 10G links back to the core.

Class 4 PoE+ for Access Points, Cameras and Phones

This model delivers a 405 W Class 4 PoE+ budget to power wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones and other PoE devices directly from the switch, with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet and 6 kV service-port surge protection.

Dynamic Layer 3 Routing and Nine-Switch IRF Stacking

Unlike Layer 2-only access switches, the CW 2150 supports IPv4 and IPv6 with dynamic Layer 3 protocols (RIP and OSPF) and advanced QoS. Up to nine switches can be stacked with Intelligent Resilient Fabric (IRF) for resilience, redundancy and a single point of management. Manage it through the Web GUI, CLI, the Smart Management Center (SmartMC) web dashboard, HPE Intelligent Management Center (IMC), SNMP or REST APIs.

Built-In Security

HPE lists multi-layer access protection with granular ACLs (IPv4/IPv6, VLAN and port-based), IEEE 802.1X, MAC, Web, RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication, encrypted access over SSHv2, SSL, SNMPv3 and TLS, plus control plane policing (DoS protection) and ARP and DHCP protection.
