The HPE Networking Instant On 1960 12XGT 4SFP+ Switch (JL805A) is a smart-managed Layer 2+ switch from HPE's Instant On range, the small-business line designed to be deployed and run without a dedicated IT team. It provides 12 x 100/1000/10GBASE-T RJ-45 and 4 x 10GbE SFP+ ports, with a switching capacity of 320 Gbps and throughput of 238 Mpps.
HPE positions the 1960 series at the top of the Instant On switch range, for businesses that have outgrown a single switch and need 10GbE uplinks, stacking and basic Layer 3 routing while keeping Instant On's simple app-based management.
True Stacking of up to Four Switches
Up to four Instant On 1960 switches can be stacked and managed as a single unit, and HPE supports cloud-managed stacking set up directly from the Instant On mobile app. Access and aggregation models can be mixed in the same stack, so a 1960 12XGT 4SFP+ can sit at the core with 24- and 48-port access switches beneath it.
A 10GbE Aggregation Switch for the Instant On Stack
With every port running at up to 10 Gbps, the 12XGT 4SFP+ is the aggregation model of the 1960 series: use it to connect servers, NAS and other high-bandwidth devices at 10GbE, or to aggregate the 10GbE uplinks of other 1960 switches in the building. It has no PoE and is powered by an internal power supply.
Layer 2+ Features with Static Routing
HPE lists static IPv4/IPv6 routing (512 routes), VLANs, access control lists (up to 1,024 ACEs), QoS, IEEE 802.1X and MAC authentication and port security, so guest, staff, voice and IoT traffic can be kept apart and routed between VLANs without a separate router.
Supplied in Singapore with a Limited Lifetime Warranty

What It Is Suited To
Small and mid-sized offices that need a 10GbE core or aggregation switch for servers, storage and other 1960 access switches. It pairs naturally with HPE Networking Instant On access points and Secure Gateways, which are managed from the same app.
Management Software
Set up and manage with the free HPE Networking Instant On app (iOS and Android) or the Instant On web portal, with no subscription. Alternatively, run the switch or stack locally from its web interface, with SNMP available for third-party monitoring.
Stacking Compatibility
Stacks only with other Instant On 1960 series switches (up to four units per stack). It does not stack with the 1830 or 1930 series.
